#DF170 discussing

Hi @Marko Koosel

Thank you for all of your insights at #DF17.  I'm super excited about the Lightning Report Builder and all the great new features to come.  I thought of a question that I wished I had asked at the True to the Core session and thought this could be an appropriate place to ask.

Currently, if I create a report and use Field A as a filter, the report will reduce the number of results from 10 records to 5.  If I save the report and send the link to someone else who does not have access to Field A, they will see all 10 records with no indication that my intention with the report was to return fewer results.  I also do not have any indication that someone else is viewing my report and seeing a larger data set.

Are there any plans to address this issue in the near future?

Thanks,

Scott Shapiro

    @Anusha Surepeddi I second @Scott Shapiro's idea on viewing report with fields where users do not have access to lead to different result. I agreed that at least an alert should be display on the report if the filter of the report has a field where the user clicking open the report does not have access to. It would be helpful if the team could look into this. Thanks!

Hello.  I'm new to my company and we have several Admins but there is no logging method or tracking method for either requests from users or more project based tasks for the Admin team.  Basically, users email a salesforce group email address with any report requests or reassignment of records requests and four different admins take ownership of these requests.  They are logging the more project based enhancements to Salesforce on an excel spreadsheet. Looking for suggestions from others on what you are using so I can research some options.  Considering using one object or app for both if possible.

Note:  we use the Case object today for tickets going to the customer support team.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, for Service Cloud we would love to have real time monitoring in Command Centre. Any chance that Service Cloud data will be in Command Centre any time soon? And I'm not just talking about Social CS :-) cc @Tom Hasselman

    Hi @Marlous Heiser it was nice chatting with you at #DF17

    last year, hope all is well with you and your team in 2018.

    I work closely with the Command Center PM, Daryl, who I believe you met, and you're right, currently it is only social care data that we surface in the Command Center, but I know that he and his team are working on bringing in additional non-social data points from Service Cloud. CC

I'm very excited to announce my new free, open source app Mass Action Scheduler!

~~~
Declaratively schedule Process BuilderFlowsQuick ActionsEmail AlertsWorkflow Rules, and Apex to process records from Reports and List Views.
~~~

That’s right. Identify the records you want to process with reports and list views, simple-to-use tools familiar to every admin. No more waiting for records to be updated or creating clever workarounds to cause records to be updated to cause these actions to fire.

Check out the resources below where you'll find link to install the managed package, the source code for you developer types, instructions for getting started, and a growing list of tutorials and examples.

p.s. Make sure to register for my #AutomationHour webinar on Jan 5th, 2018 at 12pm PST (3pm EST) where I’ll be showing how to get started with and use Mass Action Scheduler.

Thanks, enjoy!

Hello all. I'll be starting a new admin position in January. Can anyone provide any advice as to a process for familiarizing myself with the new org? Is there a checklist that I can follow to make sure I don't miss anything? Thanks for any direction.

This isn't intentionally meant to toot my own org's horn (though no harm in that!). Given the discussions at the Chicago #NPSP Community Sprint and during the #Df17 .org roadmap session about building in support for impact measurement to the NPSP, I thought this was interesting. Guidestar has partnered with Mission Measurement to add a new badge on org profiles that is meant to indicate organizations that take impact measurement seriously. See more here in their press release: https://globenewswire.com/news-release/2017/12/06/1233987/0/en/GuideStar-Mission-Measurement-Partnership-Adds-New-Nonprofit-Impact-Data-to-GuideStar.html
