Hi there,
I have a profile for a digital experience page. The page has several object lists on them, but the problem is users can change whatever default lists they see. I'd rather have the lists locked down so they can't use the list dropdown and look at other lists. Is there a way I can just change permissions for all lists available under the profile in question? #User Profiles

Apr 24, 2023, 8:04 PM @Jeffery Wright Did you share the lists with the external users? Or only change them to All Internal Users? You’ll need to specify the external user groups to share with in order for them to access the lists. This also might suggest they might not have the right object level access - have you configured the Partner profiles or permission set to contain the necessary object-level access for the object records listed here?
Is there a way to compare user profiles? I have just adopted Salesforce from another user and there are multiple custom profiles. This is a small company and all these custom profiles are not necessary. I want to compare and contrast the profiles to see which ones need to be deleted and which ones are useful. Is there a way to do this? I'm frustrated to the point that I want to delete them all and start all over. Thanks!
Mar 15, 2021, 10:56 AM I was just about to post what @Emma Hutchinson said, that sorted me out for what I needed :) Also, utilise Optimiser Report frequently, that will help you stay on top of things.
Hi Trailblazers!! I hope you're doing well?
I am confused with one situation. Since profiles and permission sets are closely related to each other, seeking your views on this scenario:
We had set up Roles, Profiles and Permission Sets long back while setting up the org and now planning for a clean-up activity. We have multiple roles such as Sales People, Service People, Branch Managers, Cluster/Regional Managers, Operation Managers and Management. We are using profile ids in validation rules to restrict access to a particular profile after the opportunity is won.
Since it is a clean-up activity what should be my approach for Profiles and Permission Set?
Should I create all 6 different profiles or go with 3 profiles and then grant access via permission set?
What are the best practices for Profiles and Permission Sets?
Thank You,
Gaurav Khetia
We seem to have modified our 'standard' permission roles. I'd like to set them back to their original state but don't know what was changed. Does anyone know where I could find what the permissions *should* be? I can't find where this might be documented.
Jun 2, 2020, 9:56 PM Hi @Tom Neuburger , Please check the below links. These are comprehensive one. If it it tedious, you can contact support if they can help to reset them

Hey all trailblazers!
Has anyone successfully installed an app from the AppExchange to a sandbox since the trailblazer.me upgrade has changed all their user profiles? I cannot successfully log into the AppExchange with my sandbox profile, it keeps going to the trailhead account, and not my business sandbox. I get this authentication error: "Trailblazer.me is updating. When it completes, you can sign up for an account. Hmm, that didn't work. Something went wrong with your login through Salesforce. Please give it another try." In fact every tab I go to in the Salesforce success community asks me to re-login or takes me to a different profile with a different profile picture. I cannot even login successfully using my business user profile to submit a support case! Is there someone who can look into this for me? @* Trailhead Official * @All About AppExchange

I'm running into an issue with the Integration User (for Einstein Analytics). In my company a lot of Custom Fields are added every Month. The Integration User cannot see these Fields unless the Developers also add Read Access in the Field Permissions (on the Profile) for the newly added Custom Fields. Sometimes (more than often) they forget and when I run into that I have to go and ask them to fix this. It is taking a lot of time and frustration working this way. Does anyone have an easier solution to give the Integration User (automatic) access to newly added Custom Fields. I've looked into giving the Integration User Admin rights with an Admin Profile but that is not allowed for the specific User License for the Integration User.
Hope someone can help?
What is the best way to have the "Individual Email Results" related list visible to all users in Sales Cloud? Majority of our users will not have Marketing Cloud licenses but all have Sales Cloud licenses. We would like for all Sales Cloud users to be able to see emails sent to all contacts without having a license to Marketing Cloud. Would this be through a permission set? The Individual Email Results related list is already on the assigned page layouts.
I tried updating Profiles with Read/View access to Email Sends and Individual Email Results but still no luck. And tried creating a custom Permission Set with Campaigns, Email Sends and Individual Email Results Read Access but still not seeing the Related List on non-System Admin users.
Thank you!
Awesome Admin Friends,
I have an administrative question for a project that has become more complicated than anticipated for my organization:
We recently upgraded to unlimited edition and have made some license changes in conjunction with this upgrade.
Specifically, we have 40 users who were previously assigned the Force.com App Subscription licenses before the switch, and we are needing to switch them all over to the Salesforce Lightning Platform licenses, which we were advised are the comparable licenses, currently.
This requires an undertaking on our end of essentially cloning all profiles and permission sets for the new licenses, transfer the users over to the new profiles, and update all record types, field level security, and everything else that is controlled by profiles/permission sets.
Unfortunately, the ability to clone a profile and assign said clone a different license is not OOB functionality, and I am struggling to find documentation that would be helpful in speeding up this changeover.
Could anybody suggest any resources, documentation, tools, etc. that would help guide us through this process? It is laden with many 'gotchas' and we need some basic guidance on the best way to execute this change without experiencing service interruptions for those whose license (and thus profile and permission sets) are being changed.
I appreciate your time. :)
