“Our sandbox was recently refreshed. Production uses SSO. We are unable to log in to the refreshed sandbox using username/password, and the Forgot Password function returns: ‘Your account isn't set up yet. Your Salesforce admin can help with that.’ Please reset the password for the Sandbox System Administrator so we can access the sandbox without SSO.” Even admin's also unable to login.

    Hi Lakshman,

This is a documented Salesforce behavior, not a config mistake on your side. When a sandbox is refreshed, SAML/SSO settings are copied over but automatically disabled, because the Recipient URL changes to match the new sandbox URL, and the sandbox Org ID also changes with every refresh, which invalidates the existing SSO configuration. That's exactly why username/password and Forgot Password both fail right now, if your users were SSO-only, they never had a local Salesforce password set up in the first place, so there's nothing for Forgot Password to reset, hence "Your account isn't set up yet."

    Official reference:

    https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000385851&type=1

To get back in, try these in order:

    1. Log in directly with local credentials (bypassing SSO):

       Go to

    https://test.salesforce.com

(or your Sandbox My Domain URL)

       Username:

    user@domain.com.sandboxname

Password: whatever password was active in Production at the exact time of the refresh (sandbox refresh carries over the Production password as of that moment)

    2. If another admin already has direct access to the sandbox:

Have them go to Setup > Users inside the sandbox, remove the ".invalid" suffix from your email, save, then click Reset Password on your user record.

    3. If every single admin is locked out (sounds like your case):

Open a case with Salesforce Support from your Production org. Provide the Sandbox Org ID and explicitly request a password reset email for the affected Sandbox administrator. Support can issue this even though Forgot Password self-service fails.

Once you regain access as admin:

    4. Go to Setup > Identity > Single Sign-On Settings (Lightning) or Setup > Security Controls > Single Sign-On Settings (Classic)

    5. Click Edit, check SAML Enabled, Save

    6. Update the Recipient URL to match the new sandbox URL, then download the sandbox's SAML metadata and send it to your Identity Provider so they can update their config to the new sandbox URL and Org ID

Until step 6 is done, SSO simply will not work in this sandbox, that part isn't a bug, it's expected after every refresh.

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with Account record visibility in a Salesforce Developer Sandbox and would appreciate some guidance.

  • Account OWD is set to Private.
  • I have refreshed the Developer Sandbox from Production.
  • I manually loaded Account records into the Sandbox.
  • The Account records are owned by me.
  • I and the other users have the Company CEO role.
  • My Account object Read permission is enabled.
  • I can see the Account records in the Sandbox, but the other Company CEO users cannot.
  • In Production, these same users can see Account records owned by me.
  • There are no Account Sharing Rules configured in the Sandbox.

What could be causing the difference in record visibility between Production and the Developer Sandbox? Is there any additional sharing/access setting I should check?

Thanks in advance!

Hi trailblazers,

We have the Data Cloud (DC) & Sales Cloud in the same instance.

I know that I can use ConnectAPI to get the data from DC. Tried and tested using developer console in the production.

Now, I want to develop custom LWC which required the data from DC. When I try to develop it in a sandbox with the ConnectAPI, it seems that I can not test it with the DC. So I am puzzled over on how to follow the development when it comes to the DC within same instance.

I don't want to go with the Connected App thing because it's the same instance.

Even with the flows, I can configure them in production like this:Data cloud ConnectApi for SandboxWhen try to develop in Sandbox, I don't see any value in the data space to select.

Is there something needs to be setup in the DataCloud?

I have seen your demo on youtube @Phaneendra Arigachetta, it was great. Just tagging you here in case you have any insights already.

@Ishwar Kabra: you can watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rxtc9puX0E&t=1s, in this tutorial, what i have done is connected DC with another CRM Org. and both of these 2 orgs (DC and CRM) Connected via CRM Connector. it's similar like your sandbox. and in sandbox, you can still leverarge query api's to fetch data from DC org and insert into any one of the custom object. (make sure you need to setup Named Creds in DC org). When it comes to leveraging DC sandboxes: In next 2 releases sf is releasing sandboxes concept: like go to DC Prod org and spun sandbox where Metadata and Configurations Automatically Replicated as part of Sandbox. and one more good news ,they are coming up with Playground data spaces like we can exact copy of default data space and do some changes quickly and retrofit back to default Data space again.

Hi all,

how do you manage to deactivate a user in all your org related sandbox, without having to enter and deactivate in each of them?

I could not find a solution for this issue, so I've created this Idea.

Any vote or suggestion is welcome!

Mass deactivate user in Sandbox

Hi, sorry if I'm late to an outdated thread (and I think my question is more related to some of the comments than the original post, sorry), but did someone say they have a solution for enforcing SSO login for sandboxes with external SSO solutions (like, Onelogin for example). Relatively newish to SSO configurations, but this sounds in line with something I'm trying to figure out a solution more. If anyone knows any resources to help with this use case, please advise!Thanks!@Thomas Barrett @Marc Behr
