It’s 2025 and that means we’re celebrating 10 years of Sprints as a community! 🥳💙🦖

As Director of the Salesforce Commons program and a participant or host at almost every event in the past 10 years, I've had the honour of witnessing the incredible success they've had on the Salesforce Nonprofit and Education Trailblazer community firsthand.

What started as a way for the Salesforce community to contribute to the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) has grown into a global movement, bringing together over 3,700 participants at 59 events to create freely accessible solutions for nonprofits and educational institutions.

This article is a heartfelt 💙 thank you 💙 to everyone who has contributed their time, energy, and skills over the past decade. I reached out to all of the original planners of the first Sprints in 2015, and am excited to share the memories and reflections I received.

Community Sprints are more than just technology; they're about creating connections, sharing ideas, and making a real difference. Read the full article to learn more about our journey, how to get involved at events this year, and see the incredible impact we've achieved together.

I'd love to hear your Sprint stories and "ah-ha" moments in the comments below! This is the first in a series of articles celebrating this milestone, so stay tuned for more! It’s 2025 and that means we’re celebrating 10 years of Sprints as a community! 🥳💙🦖 As Director of the Salesforce Commons program and a participant or host at almost every event in the past 10 years

Is this the right place to ask about accessing some of the wonderful outputs of these Sprints?

I was really interested in hearing about this a while back:

ANZ Payment Solution Framework:

Focused on creating a decision tree to identify which companies/products could be used to solve local and general use cases. Payments, Receipting and Integrations is top of mind for a lot of people; customers want guidance about where to start, they want simplicity. The team designed a working Flow to help local NGO’s understand what local providers would be a good fit for their unique needs, resources, and skill-sets. And, check out their incredible video to promote their work!

Next Steps: Publish the flow externally so NGO’s can start using it!

——

This framework would be incredibly useful. Did it ever get released?

It is with great excitement that now, three years after Outbound Funds was created, one of the initial goals for the app will be achieved, Outbound Funds will transition out of Open Source Commons and become a Salesforce.org open source product! Though Outbound Funds will transition to new leadership, it will remain the free, open source, community-driven product that we all know and love😍.

Outbound Funds will now be positioned to serve the Salesforce ecosystem alongside existing open source products that the community trusts and relies on every day like NPSP, EDA, and PMM. Going forward Salesforce will oversee the development, support and roadmap for Outbound Funds, in collaboration with a community advisory group. Outbound Funds users will soon have access to push updates, official Salesforce support, and documentation within the Power of Us Hub Knowledge tab. The package will not change so existing users will not need to transition to a new package. Users on version 1.15 or above will be set up to receive push updates. Anyone on previous versions will need to upgrade to 1.15 to do so.

Together with Salesforce.org, we have a shared vision to expand the visibility of Outbound Funds and expose the amazing work happening within our Salesforce Community to an even larger audience. We know the accessibility and flexibility of the Outbound Funds product lends itself to being extended in numerous ways and we are excited to see what a dedicated team can do with the foundation we’ve built.

From the team that has built Outbound Funds to date, this is not a goodbye. It’s a “see you soon”.  We’ll see you on vision calls. We’ll see you at Sprints. We’ll see you at keynotes. While the leadership may be changing, the team that has built Outbound Funds will continue to work alongside Salesforce.org to be the voice of the community and to partner with them as they support, enhance and add to the Outbound Funds product to take it to new and exciting places that a team of volunteers could only dream of.

Good Morning Everyone - I hope y'all are staying healthy, sane, and happy (I know those don't always go together) - - I am a board member and Salesforce Administrator for Atlanta Pride. I am currently looking for guidance on grant management. We will often have both incoming and outgoing grants. How has everyone else maintained this? (I see the great inbound grant management via opportunity)..

I see that there is this solution on the

salesforce.org website, but I am not sure if this is something that is only for nonprofit cloud, or if it would also work with NPSP https://www.salesforce.org/nonprofit/foundationconnect/

@Justin Gavette check out our @Outbound Funds Module (SFDO Product)  group like @Melissa Hill Dees  and @Cori O'Brien mentioned. I co-lead the project and you exact scenario is very similar to my organization's needs we primarily take in coming grants and memberships , but also do some regranting (nothing too sophisticated like a large grantmaker. Early designs and models for what became Outbound Funds were done in looking at Community Foundations who also have Donors/Donations, Incoming Grants, but also needed a tool for making grants and scholarships. We've got an open source project here and it's designed to be highly flexible and let you attach 3rd party form tools, Communities, websites, what ever off the shelf or custom tool you want to use to push or pull data to/from Salesforce. Happy to answer any questions specific questions over in our group and we have a number of other users who I'm sure would be happy to share more about how they've extended Outbound Funds like you might be looking to use it as well.

Time for a #Friday Shout Out!

Let's take a moment to reflect on the week and give a shout out to another community member who helped you out or just someone you think deserves some thanks!

#Friday Shout Out to everyone who asked questions and participated during the Nonprofit Cloud Ask Me Anything yesterday with David Ragones! There were some really tough, meaty questions being posed, and it just shows how engaged and passionate this community is. Never feel like you can't ask the tough questions -- this community is YOURS and we are here to help and support you! If you were not able to join live, you can scan through the group and check out the questions and answers that came up in the group: @Nonprofit Cloud Ask Me Anything Archive

#Friday Shout Out to @Caroline Renard for always hosting the most timely, relevant #Hub Office Hours -- make sure to check out the recording from last week's session on End-of-Year Reporting, with @Skye Tyler @Steve Molis @Barbara Christensen and @Gorav Seth and join the group for future sessions @Hub Office Hours.
