When going into set up it is loading my irl(in real life) organization and company information instead of the trailhead playground information. When i go to view profile in the top right, it shows i am logged in with playground credentials still. For obvious reasons I don't want to operate in my irl organization when learning in trailhead. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
It sounds like you're accidentally accessing your real Salesforce organization instead of the Trailhead Playground environment. Here’s how you can ensure you’re working in your Trailhead Playground and not your real Salesforce organization:
So, If you ever get confused and end up in the wrong Salesforce org (your real company), just close that tab and relaunch the Trailhead Playground from the Trailhead home page. This will open a fresh instance of the Playground, ensuring you're safe to practice and experiment.
Steps to Access the Trailhead Playground Setup:
- Log in to Trailhead:
- First, ensure you're logged into your Trailhead account on Trailhead.
- Check Your Playground:
- Go to your Trailhead profile by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner of the Trailhead page and selecting Profile.
- Under the Playgrounds tab, make sure you have a Trailhead Playground listed. If not, you may need to create one by clicking Create a Playground.
- Open the Playground:
- From the Playgrounds tab in your profile, click Launch next to the Trailhead Playground you want to work with. This will take you directly into the Playground environment, where you should be able to see the Trailhead-specific settings.
- Access Setup in the Playground:
- Once in the Playground, click the Gear Icon in the upper right corner, and then select Setup.
- Ensure you’re in the Playground environment: When you open Setup, the URL should contain "lightning/setup" (or similar) but should NOT reference your company name or any organization-specific information.
- Confirm You’re in the Right Org:
- Check the organization name in the top right of the Setup page to ensure it says something generic like "Trailhead Playground" rather than your real organization’s name.
- Switching Between Orgs:
- If you're still seeing your real organization, you may have a Salesforce session tied to it. You can try logging out and logging back in, or use Incognito mode in your browser to avoid mixing sessions.
- Verify the User Profile:
- In the top right corner of Salesforce, where your profile icon is, click it and ensure it displays the Trailhead user credentials (it should match what you see in your Trailhead profile).
Quick Troubleshooting:
- Clear Cache or Use Incognito Mode: Sometimes your browser might cache the Salesforce session, making it difficult to switch between orgs. You can clear the cache or use an Incognito/Private window to log into Trailhead and launch the Playground.
- Use Different Browsers: You can use one browser for your real organization and another for your Trailhead Playground, so there’s no conflict between the two environments.
- Force Logout: In Salesforce, go to the App Launcher (grid icon), select Settings, and find the Sessions section. You can logout from all active sessions here to ensure you're not in your IRL org.
Recap:
- Launch your Trailhead Playground from your Trailhead profile.
- Access Setup from within that Playground.
- Ensure the org information on Setup shows your Trailhead Playground and not your company’s info.
By following these steps, you should be working safely within your Trailhead Playground without affecting your real organization.
- Log in to Trailhead:
