Marketing Cloud Email Subject Line Personalization Guidance:

As of January 30, 2026, the email subject line double evaluation feature is deprecated for new customer adoption. On March 15, 2026, email subject line double evaluation will be disabled for all existing customer accounts. Subject lines must be updated by March 15, 2026 to maintain expected functionality.

What is changing about email subject line personalization?

Salesforce is deprecating double evaluation in subject lines. As of January 30, 2026, this feature is deprecated for new customers, and on March 15, 2026, it will be disabled for all accounts.

To ensure that your email campaigns function as intended as they make these changes, a new AMPscript string has been introduces:

%%__SINGLE_RESOLVE%%

How to Use It:

Append this string to the end of your subject line to enforce single resolve:

%%=TreatAsContent(SubjectLine)=%% %%__SINGLE_RESOLVE%%

-or-

%%=v(@SubjectLine)=%% %%__SINGLE_RESOLVE%%

What It Does:

When the platform sends the email, it will remove this AMPscript string and resolve the subject line only once.

After Enforcement Date:

After March 15th 2026, single resolve will become the default platform behavior for all subject lines. At that point, this string will no longer be necessary and can be removed or left in place.

Important Note:

This string only works in the subject line. If used elsewhere, it will appear as plain text in your content.

how to fix invalid record ID error? I'm trying to create engagement metrics in lighting record page, Connected campaigns is configured already.  Below is the error:

Error creating info component: Failed to initialize a component [An invalid record ID was supplied: 'undefined']

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

@SUNNY PATWA This isn't really helpful at all.  We get the same error simply when dragging the OOTB  Pardot (MCAE) "Engagement Metrics" component onto a Campaign Lightning Record Page.  There is nothing to "check" here, nowhere to enter ID's or anything configure, etc.  You're already on the Campaign record page in Lightning App Builder, so it should be inheriting/pulling the recordId from that page (which is a valid and active Campaign). Note also that the component itself seems to render fine -- it's just an error thrown in Lightning App Builder when dragging the component onto the page or refreshing the page.

I also tried manually removing every single Metric Type element in the component and resaving, and it still throws a single error (instead of one for each Metric Type):

Error creating info component: Failed to initialize a component [An invalid record ID was supplied: 'undefined']

    eval()@

As I am not a developer, this is mostly gibberish to me... I'm a Salesforce Admin with MCAE admin access ('Marketing User' is checked on my Profile and I'm in the Account Engagement User profile and can access and admin Pardot without issues).

Instead of providing canned troubleshooting responses, can someone provide the actual root cause of this seeminly out-of-the-box Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE) component error in Lightning?

@Deekshita M - Did you or anyone else here ever find the real root cause?

Hi, everyone! I have one current Pardot user in the "Marketing" role that I'd like to update to the "Administrator" role.

This user inherited their role from the User Sync settings on the Salesforce Connector, and I do not want to modify the Pardot role that matches that Salesforce profile for everyone in that profile -- I only need to update this one Pardot user to be a Pardot Admin (but remain only a standard user in Salesforce).

Is this possible? Thank you!

I have multiple lists where each list needs to have its own sender's name and I am wondering if I can do that with one email instead of creating different versions. I can't use the account owner or assigned user field as that is different. I was hoping to use a flag in the list and put that as a dynamic token in sender field.

Using Opportunity Primary Campaign in Pardot

HEre is a new mightyforce.org blog for those who use Pardot and want to segment door communications for not only the existence of donations but what campaign was given to. This isn't possible out of the box. Here is my solution for it.

The solution also demonstrates a good architecture pattern (simple, scalable, maintainable):

When lookup, formula fields, special fields, etc aren't supported, use automation to convert to a standard text or number field and use that instead. Nobody loves having to add these denormalized fields but they work and are very helpful when you need them. This works to go around product limitations in list views, conditional visibility, weird known issues that just never seem to get fixed, etc.

For some reasons, we want to exclude integration user from duplicate rules in SF. Will there be any impact in salesforce because of this?

In Sales Cloud, a report has been created on opportunities based on some custom fields criteria. Now, we need same segmentation in Pardot/MCAE. To do so, we are creating a dynamic list using the same criteria as in the Sales Cloud (screenshot attached).

Fetching opportunities in Pardot/MCAE

However, pardot/MCAE doesn't looks directly into the opportunities, instead it looks for the prospects having opportunities attached with specific criteria. Because of this, the no. of prospects in the list won't be the same as in the Sales Cloud report. The reasons could be (I am just assuming as I am not good in Sales Cloud), there are multiple opportunities with one contact, contact information missing etc. (Please correct me if I am wrong).

Ultimate purpose is to have same no. of prospects in the dynamic list as are in the SF report. Is there a way around?

Hello, Pardot syncs only those opportunities which are tied to contacts who are associated with opportunity contact role in Salesforce. If prospects (who are contacts) who do not meet this criterion, you won't find those opportunities in Pardot hence there would be differences in your counts.
