When a donation is received via a trust or as a royalty or residual income when a donor who designates the non-profit as the beneficiary, who is the donor? It seems to me that like a donor-advised-fund donation, the person we think of as the donor would be an influencer who gets soft credit but that the trust or the company paying out the royalty is the actual donor. If this is, indeed, the case, in which situations is the deceased person the actual donor rather than an influencer?

So let’s say we have different programs active. And different donors are associated to these programs and some might be involved with several, and we’d like to communicate only with constituents from a specific program. How is that or is it made possible within Salesforce NPSP? How do I tag or associate contacts with specific programs ?

Thanks in advance !

Our org uses payments and a custom field (soon to be object) called Designation to identify which fund a person gives to. In this case, how can I update the Contact record to indicate a first-time gift to the related fund they've given to which is marked on the Payment?

We are new to Salesforce and we are integrated with the fundraising platform Rallybound. We would like to know what the best way is to automate tracking of donor to participant relationships. We know that people who donate to a friends campaign probably do not want to be solicited directly (and our donors don't want us soliciting their friends), but we also have our regular donors donating through the same platform. We'd appreciate any advice about how other organizations handle this problem.

We are a small non-profit, and we have just implemented Salesforce to manage our donor database.  I'm trying to figure out how to make the most Salesforce throughout all our donor processes.

I would like to be able to track activity with major donors. E.g., if we have targeted 10 major donors that we believe are good candidates for $5,000 gifts in 2018, I would like to be able to set those "opportunities" or "leads" up and have staff log all contacts with the accounts. Then I would like to produce a report of the activity for the 10 accounts on a monthly basis so that staff and BOD has visibility into progress.

Can anyone suggest the best way to accomplish my goals?

I thought that one way to do this might be to set up new leads for those donors, then log and report on activity for those leads, but it doesn't seem possible to set up a lead for an existing account.

Thanks!

Ruth

I'd like to be able to flag households with an open monthly pledge attached to contacts under the account. I have looked at it from various angles to see if there's an obvious, easy way to do this, but haven't had much luck. At this point, my best answer appears to be a pair of DLRS roll-ups, one to roll up the pledges onto the contact and a second to roll those contacts up on the account. Am I missing something? (Is there a way to do this with one DLRS, spanning from the Pledge up to the Account via the Contact?)
