Platform developer 1 exam - advice

Hi, 

 

I have been a Salesforce admin for 4 years now.  

I want to give the platform developer 1 exam again, I just failed at my first attempt. 

What I did wrong was only studied online and did not get any hands on experience. 

I need advice on how and where to study from. 

How to get hands on experience and how much time does it take to prepare for the test.

    When I was getting ready for Platform Developer I, I was in a similar situation. Spending time on Trailhead projects, building small Apex classes, triggers, SOQL queries, and Lightning components in a free Developer Organization, rather than merely reading theory, was the most helpful for me. Understanding the objectives of the exam was significantly improved by the hands-on practice. I also used the Certs4Sure practice questions to find my weak spots and get ready for the exam. With consistent study and practical work, 6–8 weeks of focused preparation can be enough for a retake.  Good luck; your Salesforce Admin experience already puts you ahead of the pack!
