#Non-profit Cloud0 discussing

Hello,

I'm trying to learn the NPC logic and I'm not sure I understand which app is the best practice for managing donations grants, pledges, etc. (like in NPSP)

Is there a use for the opportunity /campaign object? what is the difference from the gift designation/ Program?

What is a major gift and why is it an opportunity and gift commitment? What is the difference between a custom schedule and a recurring schedule?

For example, in the demo, I saw a gift commitment with a custom schedule of 2 years which you can also do a recurring schedule, so why custom?

Hey,

creating households through the guided flow is not sufficient for my needs for several reasons. That´s why I wanted to create my own flow, which is doing the same thing in the end with more customization.

During this I discovered, that the party group relation record is getting created + one business account representing the household.

So far so good - but except from the view through ACR I cannot find anywhere who is involved in this group.

On the party role relationship group record I only see the account lookup, but for example no related list which shows all the other individuals / other companies, which are assigned to this group.

Can anyone help on this please?

@Daniel Seiler Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm having the same problem. I'd like to see the relationships and roles as related lists on the Party Group Page.

Hi

My requirement is to calculate the below fields at account level. Will using data processing engine help get these values? Or should I create a flow to get this result? We use NonProfit cloud. Or is there any other workaround? As am new to using Non Profit cloud and also not sure of how to setup data processing engine any suggestions will help me. Thanks in advance.

While you could technically use DPE for this, it's not really the best approach... There are two I have used in the past that have worked for me:

    1. Flow - you could create a scheduled flow to run every evening to calculate the new totals for any donor who has given in the previous 24 hours. Pull all of their donations since the start of the year and sum them to the fields you've created

    2. Use DLRS - this is a 3rd party tool (free) that a lot of people (non profits and beyond) use for exactly this purpose. Declarative Lookup Roll-up Summary allows you to configure a process that it generates apex code for (since apex can be more efficient for large data manipulation than flow). A few clicks and you're done (you don't have to know how to code apex for this at all!)

Hey there!

I recently got my hands on the NPC and I'm a bit confused about the program management. I noticed it's different from what I'm used to seeing in the program management module. Am I looking in the wrong spot or is there something I'm missing?

I'm used to seeing services, service delivery, program engagement, and other objects in the PMM, but I can't seem to find them in the NPC. Do I need to download the PMM to access these features or are they available in the NPC as well?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @Sâmia Morse, so basically you don't need to download PMM since the same standards are already built-in in NPC, only terms has been changed, here I will match between what old terms and new terms.

    • PMM > NPC
      • Program > Program
      • Program Engagement > Program Enrollment
      • Service > Benefit & Benefit Type (They added another object Benefit Type, where Benefit has lookup relationship to Benefit Type)
      • Service Delivery > Benefit Assignment & Benefit Disbursement (They added another object Benefit Disbursement, where Benefit Disbursement has lookup relationship to Benefit Assignment)
      • Service Schedule > Benefit Schedule & Benefit Assignment Schedule
      • Service Session > Benefit Session

So, you can keep the same idea from PMM to NPC, but only change the terms that you use.

Hope you find it helpful, let me know if you need further clarification about PMM in NPC.

    Best regards,

    Younes Benichou,
