#NFP Fundraising0 discussing

Hi All

Needed some advice on how others are tracking their second gift in Salesforce. We have the rollup field to track first gift but there is no such field for second gift readly available. Second gift insights can be great as this would help us understand the time between donors first and next gift and much more. Wondering how everyone else is tracking this and if there is a way that I haven't thought of.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Partners!

I’m currently exploring the new Nonprofit Cloud demo and would like to ask for some help. Would anyone be available for a meeting to provide a demonstration of the "Fundraising" functionality? I need to better understand this feature and how to use it effectively.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Giuliana

Hi Giuliana - Thank for posting! I would be happy to connect and showcase a demo around nonprofit cloud. We can connect via email further. Here is my ID: amey.kumthekar@nsquarexperts.com

Hi all,

We're rethinking our opportunity stage pipeline for major gifts and large fundraising events for which we create prospects. We would like to more accurately track where someone is in the "sales" process.

Right now we're using the SF default: Prospecting, Pledged, Posted. At the very least, we need one stage between prospecting and pledged to represent that we are in conversation with someone about their giving.

I'm looking for ideas/suggestions for opportunity stages that would more accurately reflect the lifecycle of these donations.

Here are a few resources I found so far:

https://developer.salesforce.com/page/Nonprofit_Success_-_Donation_Management#Sales_Stageshttp://www.501ctech.org/the-opportunity-cycle-in-salesforce-com-2/

Thanks, all!

We also use the "Ask amount" field. I have the page layout configured so that it's next to the description. When we make an ask, I populate both the Ask Amount and the Amount fields with the same value. If the gift is accepted at a different dollar value, I update the Amount field.

We don't use the NPSP, so we used the SO Opportunities, Accounts and customized them as needed. We added child object "budget" and "Implementers" that lookup or roll up to Opportunities. In our situation - we move Awarded Opportunities to a separate Custom Object called Programs (since for us an Awarded Grant changes over time and has different information).
