#MWD140 discussing

So, I am looking for a tool to analyze the impact of a change in salesforce. we are in the process of revamping our instance and impact analysis is critical before making any addition/modification to existing components. I know about Panaya Changeguru , but id there a free app/tool out there that basically serves the same purpose ?

    Friends,

Happy to share home grown solution to overcome field analysis problem. I was asked to remove unused fields in an Org with 40+ custom objects. At the onset, this looks like manual task of painfully trying to delete field and see whether SFDC throws an error or not.

Thought of creating application where user can search for field use across -

    Validation Rule

    Formula

    Apex Trigger

    Apex Class

    VisualForce Pages

If the field is found to be use then a tabular format result shows the usage link.

You may download free manage package link at

    https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04t90000000VBWJ

As always. feedback to improve tool is most welcome!

Is there a link for "slideshares" for the recent presentations at the Dreamin event? I attended the event and a couple of the speakers mentioned that. I appreciate the help.

Fun fact. The entire @Midwest Dreamin' event, including attendees, speakers, sessions, rooms, volunteers and committee communications, was ran on Salesforce & Chatter. Salesforce1 was used day of to ensure a smooth event.

    Thanks Leyna!

Just to let everyone know, my presentations are very demo-heavy and contain very little text or information in the slides, so I don't think anyone will get much out of this. That being said, I will post by Monday with the information on each of the flows from the presentation.
