Hi everyone,
I hope you're having a good week!
I wanted to share a recent guest post on a topic that often comes up in more complex implementations: migrating Salesforce Knowledge across environments.
Salesforce Knowledge is straightforward to author and consume. When set-up properly, it is also very powerful in helping to create personalised, customer-centric experiences; especially when tied into other features, such as Agentforce. However, moving Knowledge Articles between orgs often introduces a number of challenges, such as:
- Articles are data, not metadata (meaning deployment must be handled separately)
- Embedded images can break
- Versioning and publishing states require careful handling
- Data categories may not align, etc.
Salesforce doesn’t currently provide a native way to migrate Knowledge articles while preserving their full structure, which can make this particularly challenging in multi-org or governed environments.
This guest post by 16x certified Salesforce Architect Danyil Kovalenko, introduces Knowledge Loader: a free AppExchange tool designed to simplify this process. Link available here: https://sfdcpenguin.com/blog/knowledge-loader-a-practical-tool-for-salesforce-knowledge-migrations/
I would be interested to hear how others are currently approaching Knowledge migrations.
I hope this helps!
