#Campaign Monitor0 discussing

Hello.

Just wondering if there are any Campaign Monitor users here that can help me understand if and how we can trigger an automatic email campaign to go out when a Contact is attached to a Campaign via Campaign Membership in Salesforce?

I understand email campaigns can be automated and triggered if someone is added to a list or a segment, so I guess it is a question of if such an activity in Salesforce can result in a Contact being added to a list or get updated with a segment? And is it fiddly if we would want to repeat that behaviour for various, but not all Campaigns, through out the year? Would we need multiple syncs specific to these Campaign records and their members, and if Contacts are already synced onto our master 'All Contacts' list, what are the considerations for that?

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

The usual pattern is exactly what you described: Salesforce campaign activity updates a field/list/tag in Campaign Monitor, and that becomes the trigger for the automation.

If the Contact is already on your main All Contacts list, I’d avoid creating lots of separate lists unless you really need them. We had better results syncing a campaign-related flag or field and letting Campaign Monitor handle the automation from there. In one setup we used

Skyvia to push those updates from Salesforce, which made it easier to control which Campaigns triggered something and which ones didn’t.

Any of you Campaign Monitor users out there know if Campaign Monitor can use a Canva template?  We like CM's SF integration (along with the CM2SF integration software from Beaufort12), but we prefer to do our template design in Canva.  I can't find anything anywhere suggesting that CM can use or import a Canva template.  Just checking before I give up.

You can use any HTML file as a template in CM, but you will have to add CM template tags.

    https://help.campaignmonitor.com/import-custom-coded-email-templates

    https://www.campaignmonitor.com/create/editable-content/

BUT! Getting straight HTML out of canva is not easy, iirc. They have embed codes but no longer support Export as HTML, at least on the version I use. Hopefully someone else will know where that went. They have an agreement w/ Mailchimp to suck in their smart templates, but CM doesn't. If template building is a rare occurrence, then you could pay one of many services to convert a saved PDF to an HTML file for you then upload it. (Ask Karen U the name of the one Perc has used, I have forgotten) Or do the conversion yourself w/ free online tools and some html skill cleaning it up.

CM templates are about as easy to build as Canva, I think, with the added benefit of guaranteed compatibility with CM's great deliverability checks.

Hello everyone!  I am helping an organization that needs to decide upon a mass email solution that has a nice array of professional-looking, drag-and-drop email templates.  They are just getting started in their SF journey so they are not yet ready for the complexity and cost of Pardot or Marketing Cloud, and the reviews for MailChimp on the AppExchange aren't looking promising, so I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions?  I'm looking at 'Campaign Monitor for Salesforce' right now, though the pricing structure seems a bit hazy (if anyone has clarity on this app it would be helpful as well).  Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Any #CampaignMonitor users out there? We use Campaign Monitor for email automation and the activity (eg bounces, clicks, opens; "Email Tracking History" is what they call their object) has overwhelmed our data storage.

Their integration only allows throttling by # of days or by activity type, but we're at under 6 months (which is the threshold we want to keep native) and it's really just sends & opens that are eating everything up, everything else is negligible (and we're not turning off tracking sends, preferably not opens).

I did notice in digging around that over 25% of the data is for email addresses that aren't linked to a contact or lead in our Salesforce org (we do have other data sources for CM than just Salesforce). This felt like an easy place to save a lot of storage for me - the records are pure clutter and totally unnecessary to have in SF, as any insight we need into those folks we can do directly in Campaign Monitor.

I reached out to the folks at Beaufort12 to see if it's possible to stop pulling the activity for those folks into Salesforce - and apparently I'm the first person who has ever suggested this to them, so the ticket only has "1 vote" and is nowhere on their roadmap. Still need to try to see if my Campaign Monitor rep has any sway, but not sure he will given that the integration is totally outsourced to Beaufort12.

Anyone else had this issue and had a better way to resolve? Anyone willing to reach out to their CM/support team and try to upvote the request? They don't seem to have externally facing links for "Ideas" or else I'd share one. We debated doing a batch job to delete the unnecessary email activity, but they replace it nightly, so we'd have to run a nightly job to do this. :l

Any help is much appreciated! @Nonprofit Hub @Data Quality & Management  @Salesforce.org System Administrators

Sorry for late response - @Duncan McGovern

the folks in CM but not SF are either data quality issues (eg emails with no names from legacy imports/lists) or email lists for departments who don't have SF access yet. (We're implementing Salesforce internally department by department, but needed to fully adopt Campaign Monitor in order to stop paying for our old email platform.)

Once we're up to 100% Salesforce adoption internally, this gap will narrow, but regardless, there's no need to purchase additional data storage sooner rather than later for tracking activity for those subscribers in SF.

In case this helps anyone else, we ended up adjusting the days we store from 180 to 120, and then I deleted the remaining 100k unnecessary activity records from the Dev Console. Despite being told the explicit contrary by Beaufort12, the records have NOT been reimported hourly upon sync, so we've gotten away with this as a once-and-done cleanup activity rather than having to schedule that Apex job regularly. Are still going to be increasing our storage with Salesforce to allow us to keep the data rather than turning off the sync entirely, but at least this saves us some $ in how much we need to buy.

If anyone else hits this issue and is willing to reach out to Beaufort12 about prioritizing that as a feature of the their sync settings, please do. Glad to coordinate in pestering them for an update if it helps anyone else as well.

Hi all, hoping one of you might be able to help me with a Campaign Monitor question.

Our company has been using a paid Campaign Monitor connector developed by SNB Apps: http://www.snbapps.com/

Does anybody have any experience with this connector? If so, does it provide any value above and beyond the free app developed by Campaign Monitor? https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N30000008agC1EAI

Our SNB Apps subscription accidentally lapsed recently, and we installed the free app in the interim while the issue was being fixed - it seems to have all of the same features we use.

I believe it's possible that the SNB Apps connector could have been installed before the app was released.

Thanks!
