Clearing Coordinates for Multiple Accounts in Salesforce Maps

Managing all of our addresses have gotten complicated for our users. We'd like to move forward by having an agreement that primary addresses are always the home address (eliminating the difficulties users are having utilizing address override box) and secondary is always the work address. We have a field called "preferred address" that lets us know if they prefer to be mailed at home.

We are fine with the work address not getting an address record created on the household account. We would need to move a lot of data around, but feel it would be ultimately a more straightforward approach for clean addresses. Do you predict any problems with this approach?

I have considered creating a workflow that would update the second address if a person's primary affiliation changed - as a way to address the one issue I foresee - which is that the secondary address field becomes stale as users forget to update it when employment changes. Thanks!

When I edit an address on a contact's record, the field is "Primary State/Province" and there is a dropdown menu of all states, but when I edit on the Address object on the account - it is a text field. The field is managed so I can't change it to a picklist. Is there a way to change this?

Thanks in advance,

Nate

On the 1:1 model, I can push a HH address to a Contact record one at a time. Is there a way to do this for a group of HH addresses?

There was an error in importing some of our information into Salesforce. Some mailing addresses were uploaded to the shipping and billing addresses in the Household. Because of this, there is not an address affiliation that can be edited or deleted. I've gone through our field sets and it's now possible to edit billing and shipping info for accounts, but I can't find a way to make these fields editable for households.
