Hi everyone,

I currently run a WordPress website and I’m planning to create a mobile app version of it for both Android and iPhone users. My goal is to give visitors a smoother mobile experience, send push notifications, and possibly add features that are easier to use inside an app compared to a normal mobile website.

I’m wondering:

  •  What is the best way to convert a WordPress site into a mobile app?
  •  Should I use a plugin/app builder or hire a developer for a custom app?
  •  Which tools or platforms do you recommend for beginners?
  •  How can I sync my website content automatically with the app?
  •  Is it possible to publish the app on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store easily?
  •  What are the estimated costs and maintenance requirements?

I’d really appreciate recommendations, experiences, or any mistakes to avoid before starting this project. Thanks!    @* Salesforce Mobile *

Hello all -

I have a client that uses the Salesforce Mobile App. One of their users has been having daily issues searching in the mobile app and getting the error as seen here:

This session is not valid for use with the REST API

They solve it through a log out and log in. In my research travels I only see this error in the context of API integrations and nothing much on the mobile app.

Things I've investigated:

- API limits for the org

- login activity

- setup audit trail

- trust status

- Session Settings do not lock sessions to IP address or domain

I'm trying to understand what is causing this, but curious if this group has anything to share!

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm in the process of customising the mobile app for some of our users.

Within the contact page, i have added in the Send Email quick action and would like to be able to send an email to the contact from my work email address.

I have both my work email provider app installed on my phone and my personal email provider app installed on my phone.

However whilst testing this out on my mobile phone, it uses my personal (non work) email as the sender and there is no option to select my work email address when i try to change it.

I've tried checking my email address settings on the desktop and this shows my work email address.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can change the email address so that an email sends from my  work address instead of my personal one?

Thanks

Laura

Hi, SF Community -    I'd like to know how to send a MMS message to a Data Extension using Mobile Connect. I see the option to select a DE audience for a SMS send, but I don't see the option when setting up a MMS message.    I found an older related question. Its response makes it sound like this is possible, but the source they reference seems to have been rewritten since the reply was posted: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community/feed/0D54S00000A99YySAJ  @* Salesforce Mobile *

Thanks for following up. I did reach out to the support team (your chatbot forced me to post here before it would allow me to contact support, which was my original intent).

I'll post the support team response here to assist others looking for the info:

"Currently this is not possible with MobileConnect to send MMS to a data extension. You are only able to send the MMS template to lists within this application.

However, you can do this within Journey Builder as we have recently made updates to be able to do this."

Is it possible to display the Dynamic Highlights Panel background in white?

Dynamic Highlights Panel Background

I don't know why, the field section in my Dynamic Highlights Panel is displaying in grey, I've seen in documentation and other ORGs that it is displayed in white, but I cannot find the configuration for doing it.

    Hi @Munagala Raghunathreddy

The article does not specify how to configure the color background of the Dynamic Highlights panel to set it in white as the old Highlights panel, which is exactly what I want to do.

    Thank you.

Hi all,

I've been Googling and not exactly finding any specific answers, so I'm curious if anyone else has tried to get rid of the swipe up "Recent Activity" timeline that shows when viewing an Account in Salesforce Mobile?

It's a nice feature to have, but the way we need to show some custom Activity Reports conflicts slightly, so I'd like to either change what information displays in that swipe up OR just remove it completely. Anyone else ever try this?

Thank you!

Dylan

Hello all - this can be ignored. I wound up solving it.

For anyone who finds this in the future:

Settings > Connected Apps > Locate the mobile apps for iOS and Android > Create a Custom Attribute

    Attribute Key = DISABLE_ACTIVITY_TIMELINE

    Attribute Value = "true"

Will remove the "Recent Activity" swipe-up (or at least it did just now... I guess we'll see if anything changes for any reason).

Anyone else running into issue logging into Salesforce Mobile app.  We have our users go through a custom domain and OKTA and they are sometimes getting a screen that says to download the app from the Apple.    We had a case open where the solution was to create our own connection.  That worked for some but not consistently.    Thank you in advance for any assistance or suggestions.

Current situation:  Salesforce universal URLs are working as expected on Android and desktop (from default browser )  On iOS, we're experiencing issues with navigating back to the app after opening external sites in the in-app browser  Questions:  Are Salesforce deep links the only option for achieving proper return navigation on iOS? Or are there other recommended approaches for handling this use case?  I would like to redirect to a custom tab—is there deep link support for opening custom tabs directly?  Any guidance or documentation references would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!    @* Salesforce Mobile *

    hey @Sachin Gawali

On iOS, the in-app browser doesn’t automatically handle returning to the Salesforce app, so deep links are usually the most reliable option. You can use standard Salesforce deep links to open records, objects, or even custom tabs directly.

Another approach is to provide a “Return to App” button or banner on the external page that triggers the deep link.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a native automatic back-navigation feature in the in-app browser.

For custom tabs, deep links support the tab URL format, so you can point users directly to that tab from an external site.

Somehow my email action has disappeared, I searched through the threads about this and every setting is on, any thoughts? It used to be listed in the actions - and its not showing anymore in the layout editor

Hi guys, using the new Sales Cloud Mobile, it provides a kind of 'Preview Screen' for a few objects, for example, for Accounts object, it loads with some Account Details, related lists, and Activities.

As you can see from the screenshot below, the App automatically adds an extra related tab with access to a few different objects that are not in relationship and throws an error. The second related list brings the correct lists set up in the Lightning Record Page. My goal is to remove the first related tab but I can't find where to do it. We don't want to open access to other objects, just want to change this screen at once.

thanks

Is the 'Preview screen' editable?

Thanks, Pin Lee. It makes sense, and that's our findings as well. We noticed, with Salesforce Support, that this preview screen behaves in a different way between iOS and Android as well. Thanks.
