I have the System Admin profile with View All Data and Modify All Data permission.  I cannot see the New Quote button in the header on Opportunity Lightning Pages.  I have a user with a Business profile who also cannot see the button.  I have a different user with a Sales profile who CAN see the button.  In my Sandbox, I switched the blocked user to the Sales profile, logged in as him, and still cannot see the button.  When I log in as the Sales user I can see the button.  I checked different record types in different apps.  The Sales user always sees the button the Business user and Sys Admin never see the button.

All three profiles see the same page layout for each Opportunity Record type.  "New Quote" is a custom create record action on the Opportunity object.  It works for the Sales user with no issues or errors.

"New Quote" is an Action on the Opportunity object.  It is not a Global Action.  I checked the fields on the Action Layout and the predefined fields in the Action.  All three profiles have View permissions on all fields and none of the fields are Read Only for anyone.  The Object of the Action is Opportunity and the target is Quote.  The Record Type is Master.  The Sales and Business profiles have Master as the default Record Type for Quotes.  Sys Admin has Standard as the default Record Type.

All three users are Flow users.  All three users are Marketing users.  We all have the Salesforce CPQ User (or Admin) permission set.  We all have the CPQ permission set license.  We all have the CRM permission set license.

The Lightning Page we are seeing i the org default.  When I view the page in the Lightning Editor, I still don't see the "New Quote" button in the header.  There is no filter on the header component.  The same Compact Layout is assigned to all Record Types.

The only CPQ plug in we have is a Product search.   We do not put Quotes in Queues.  We do not use Roles and Hierarchy.

What am I missing?

I added this to the original post as well, in case someone who knows how to do this reads it:  The Object of the Action is Opportunity and the target is Quote.  The Record Type is Master.  The Sales and Business profiles have Master as the default Record Type for Quotes.  Sys Admin has Standard as the default Record Type.

Is there a way to either (1) choose a profile and see a list of all the objects and the corresponding Lightning page assignments for this profile and/or (2) look at an object and see all the Lightning page assignments for an app for each profile?

    Hi Rachel,

Confirming the object-level view: Object Manager > [Object] > Lightning Record Pages > Page Assignments shows every profile/app/record-type combination and which page each one gets — that's the closest native equivalent to your #2 ask.

For #1 (profile → all objects/pages), there's no native single screen for that. Options if you need it regularly:

    1. Query it via Tooling API — FlexiPage and FlexiPagePageAssignment objects hold this data; a nightly export/report could reconstruct a profile-centric view for you.

    2. Metadata-based approach — retrieve all FlexiPage metadata via VS Code/CLI and grep for a specific profile name across the assignment XML — faster than clicking through Object Manager one object at a time if you have many objects.

    3. AppExchange tools — several free/paid metadata-dictionary apps (e.g., Elements.cloud, Metazoa) can generate cross-referenced reports like "profile → pages → objects" without manual digging.

Hello, I am hoping there is an easy fix on this that I am not finding. I have been trying to update our Lightning page for tasks. In the Highlights Panel, there are Action buttons. We have actions for Log a Call and Follow Up. However, these actions are not showing up on the page when selected. Is there a reason why these action buttons can't be used on a task page? Are the action buttons object specific? Thank you.

Yes, I would create a screen flow that can be launched through an action button directly from the task record. Within the screen flow you have the choice to present the fields you need the advisor to fill out and can automate anything behind the scenes.

If the logged call is all that is needed from the advisor, the screen flow could also mark complete the initial task to save manual effort.

I have a custom object that I built and I am trying to set up the lightning record page. When I go to add Chatter to the page, it is not one of the available options.  Is there a setting or something that I am missing?  I have the object set to allow in Chatter Groups.

Dynamic Forms in Salesforce feel wonky out of the box.

With Page Layouts, fields align nicely by default.

With Dynamic Forms, you have to manually enable “Align Fields Horizontally” every time to get the same behaviour.

That really shouldn’t be the default. If you agree this should be an org-wide setting, please upvote the idea

Let’s make Dynamic Forms behave the way we expect.

Hi!

I'm having some issues while completing the challenge "

Embed Dashboards and Report Charts on Lightning Pages", more specifically, the last part, Embed a Report Chart.

When I add the Standard Report Chart, I am prompted with the following message: "You need access to the source report type to view this report chart." Would you happen to have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Based on my permissions, I'm currently set as System Admin in this Org.

 Hey Trailblazers! 👋

I've just submitted an idea that would make working in Lightning App Builder more efficient – especially for those of us building complex pages.

👉 Idea: Add the ability to collapse or hide the left and right panels (components and properties), similar to how Flow Builder lets you toggle the toolbox when working in Auto-Launch mode.

🔗 Here’s the IdeaExchange link:

https://ideas.salesforce.com/s/idea/a0BHp000016Kq1lMAC/add-collapsible-side-panels-to-lightning-app-builder-for-better-layout-control

✅ This would give us more space in the middle workspace and improve layout control during design time. Small UX change — big productivity win!

If you find this useful, I’d love your vote and support. Let’s get this on the radar! 🙌

Thank you.

While following this TH: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/lightning_app_builder/lightning_app_builder_apphome, I was adding Actions to the page including Log a Call, New Account & New Opportunity.

Although I'm facing no issues with the Log a Call or New Account actions, I cannot get the New Opportunity button to appear on the app home page. I have refreshed the screen, switched between apps and even logged out and back in again which has worked for me in some cases while doing TH's like this in the past.

This first screenshot illustrates where the button is missing on the newly created app home page. The second screenshot illustrates where the Page Properties does in fact show the New Opportunity button.

    @Pilar Arriola

Exactly! =) Now you can move forward with peace of mind =) I'm glad I could help.

Honestly, I’ll say that some challenges can leave the impression that you've followed all the instructions but made a mistake, even though the challenge was accepted.

In such cases, I try to go through the topic again to reinforce the material, or I simply forget about it and remember it a few months or even half a year later :D

The system right now doesn't allow a blank value for Equal or NOT Equal, I've just tried a fallback rule (Rule 5) set to Always. I also tried this as =! Gold, Platinum, Bronze or Silver. When the field was blank it did not display any icon. The system right now doesn't allow a blank value for Equal or NOT Equal, I've just tried a fallback rule (Rule 5) set to Always. I also tried this as =! Gold, Platinum, Bronze or Silver.I suspect this is a limitation considering the feature is in it's infancy, the last option would be to use a formula field in a condition instead but that may not work.

If you need more targeted support then feel free to post a question and tag me in the body of your post.

Hi,

I have a Lightning Page on our Lead object with a field linked through to Opportunity__r.AccountId.

This allows the user to view existing Person Accounts.

I can see it as system admin, but I can't work out how to give permissions for other profiles/permissions sets. I've given full access to the Opportunities & Account objects, but they are still unable to view the field on the Lead Lightning page.

Any ideas would be welcome!

    Hi @Dave Shaw, 👋

I'm trying to understand how you enabled this "field linked through to Opportunity__r.AccountId"

I can see you have a field "Account Name" in your Lead page (Lightning Record Page), and its API name is "Opportunity__r.AccountId", which means there is a relationship between Lead and Opportunity. How did you achieved that?

It seems you have a Lead lookup field in the Opportunity object. Is that right?

Actually, it's the other way around, otherwise you would end up having a related list of opportunities on the lead page.

🎯 Have you checked the Field-Level-Security / Read Access for the Opportunity field on the Lead object?
