#Sharing Files0 discussing

We have created a flow that is accessed through an experience site that when a .csv file is uploaded it creates to records. When the "Partner Community" user tries to upload the file they get an error that says "You can only upload these file types: jpg, pdf, doc, png, docx.".

What changes do I need to make to allow the user to be able to upload a .csv file? Is this even possible?

Dear All,

Our current Techincal Support team cannot delete any of the file attached to cases. I am reading around and it seems that only the owner of the file can delete the asset. The only other way to allow any user to delete files is to give them "Delete All/Modify All' on the data as permission.

Is there anything less powerful that would allow the team to delete files only from the Case object?

Thank you,

GC

This is indeed a problem, especially with Email-to-Case, where all the files are owned by the system user. And you definitely don't want to give your users 'modify all data'.

So with normal configuration nothing you can do. The only way is to build custom components, that then can run in system mode and therefore elevate the user beyond their normal permissions.

Because this is a widespread issue, I created

an app to solve the problem. Please consider giving it a try :)

Hi all,

on object COUNTRY (sharing: public read/write) are attached some files.

Is it possible to allow users other than the file owner to delete the file itself?

@Gruppo Stratos Gruppo Stratos In my post I said for that specific object you can give Modify all access. I did also mention that will give access to  delete records for that specific object. The 'Modify all' access you are referring to is via the systems permission where it gives you delete access to all the objects and that is dangerous.

@Phoebe Venkat Is there a way to share a file with a customer in the Success Community privately? As I understand right now, I can share with my followers, share in his feed, or share within our private customer group, but I can't figure out how to share 1:1.

You cannot share 1:1 directly from a Chatter Post. You could upload a file (not share it on a post right away) and then change the sharing methods. You could even just grab the share URL and give that URl to your contact via email or other 1:1 secure method.

The file will reside on the success community but only be accessible to places where it's been "shared to."
