#Hub Tips0 discussing

When I work with nonprofits, their Chatter instance sends me a daily or weekly digest of everything going on in the org, but I'm not sure where that setting is for the Hub, or if that's possible. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Part of the reason for this is that Sunday morning is not the best time for me to read daily digests; another reason is that a small daily does would be easier for me than a big weekly digest that just gets truncated anyways. Thanks! #Hub Tips

Very cool functionality in Chatter allows you to post your questions to more than one Group! Just "@ mention" the Groups that you wish to post into and then you don't have to copy/paste and monitor each post independently.

For example,

Getting your post or question in front of the right people here in the Hub is the best way to find the information you need. Here are a few best practices for posting questions:

1) When asking a question, use the Question post type. Using questions allows you to search other similar questions and with the upcoming Summer '14 Salesforce release will also include searching relevant knowledge articles as you type your question.

2) Post in the place that most closely matches the topic you're talking about. You can use group @mentions to mention a group. For example, this post is so inspiring, I'm going to post it to the @Inspire Me group. Or I have a question about the @Nonprofit Success Pack

3) Use topics! Topics can be added after you post with that little dropdown arrow on the top right of every post. Alternatively, you can use hashtags to tag a topic to a post. Each hashtag/topic has it's own landing page with all of the posts and Questions tagged with that topic. Want to see all the

#Questions posted in the Hub or how about everything about the Starter Pack #NPSP

. Click on the hashtag to go through to the topic page.

Happy Hubbing!

When I create a new contact, the Organization field defaults to the most recently modified Organization. I want it to be blank so that we don’t accidentally link contacts to the wrong organization, an error multiple users keep making. I’ll post this in both the V4S and the nonprofit groups. It happens when we create new contacts (volunteers and donors). How can I make the default Organization be blank? Thank you for your help. #NPSP

Thank you, Thomas. It helps to know what Salesforce was "thinking" or assuming with the Create New sidebar feature. Another commenter elsewhere said to NOT use the sidebar but the tab called Contacts and hit the new button from there. I appreciate your help.

Hi Judi, I was just looking for what I'm pretty sure was your blog post on Campaigns. I found it really helpful to think about Campaigns as lists and wanted to share it with someone else. Is it posted online somewhere that I just can't seem to find?

That's it! Thanks @Tal Frankfurt. This is why I need to file things more often (and where I can find them).

Welcome to the Power of Us Hub. With the launch, there are lots of new faces. I'm so excited to see everyone here! I want to share some resources that we've developed:

- Check out the PUB YouTube playlist:

- Dig into Topics on the Chatter tab, they're

#Awesome

- Follow the

#Hubtips topic for handy tips on using the PUB: https://powerofus.force.com/_ui/core/chatter/topics/TopicPage?id=0TO8000000001jW&ref=catalog

- Start following some people. I follow many many people and groups and it's lively, but it can be kind of quiet until you follow away:
