Error: Unable to Lock Row

When sending mass email to volunteers, we started getting this error: UNABLE_TO_LOCK_ROW: unable to obtain exclusive access to this record or 1 records: ...

Can I get help figuring out what is causing this error?

    So - can you trigger it reliably?

    Either way, yes, debug log is probably going to be the way to go.

    You also might want to look at what triggers you've got on that object that might be triggered by running a send.
