Found the solution : The Volunteer_Waiver VF page uses a flow :

FY21 Pre Check-In Waiver . We need to provide access to the flow to the site guest user profile.

Hello,

I have been working on this for 3 hours and have about had it. All of a sudden my volunteer's dashboard links stopped working. When you input your information, you never get an email. I accessed the link though my admin page and I was able to receive the sign in link to my personal page, but once I clicked on it, I was just redirected back to the contact look up page. I have tried every answer I can find and frankly I'm about ready to throw my computer. Please help.

Is there a place to look for all the legacy url/my domain hostnames in V4S?

Hello @Donna Whitig are you looking for setup > My Domain settings information of your Salesforce instance ? Try to look for redirection logs within your instance (as described in

https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.domain_name_redirections_log.htm&type=5) and get all the different old origin URL, on a daily basis observation, out of it. We are seeing an issue with volunteers not able to register due to an error code that states "You are creating a duplicate record".

Here is a screenshot of the custom settings for Volunteers for Salesforce that includes our Contact Matching Rules:

Attached is the screenshot of the error code registrants are shown:

After contacting support, this was their response:

"As per the screenshot you shared, the flow is failing as the duplicate rule is stopping from creating a duplicate contact. The apex triggers - VOL_VolunteerHours_AddToCampaign is being triggered. The trigger tried to perform an DML operation on a contact record with Id 003Ud000000onKgIAJ (a Contact record).

As this trigger is coming from Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) / Volunteers for Salesforce (V4S) managed package, Salesforce support cannot access the trigger code. I recommend you to reach out to the managed package provider to understand the instructions executed by the trigger.

Does anyone know how I should proceed? Or has anyone encountered this error before?

I have encountered something similar, but our Contact Matching Rule is only "Firstname, Lastname, Email". Typically happens if someone signs up with an existing email but they use a first or last name that does not match the existing record, e.g. contact record first name is "Theodore", but the volunteer enters "Teddy" instead.

The rule expects all 3 fields to match exactly.

I'm setting up a very simple way to track volunteer hours. I just want to use 1 Volunteer Job to track this at first. Is there a way to filter the Jobs on the Report Hours Volunteer Portal Page? According to the documentation, there doesn't seem to be a JobID or CampaignID URL parameter available for the visualforce page links.

Also, what exactly controls what Jobs show there? I've created a new Job and it doesn't show up. The Campaign is Active. Many other jobs that do show on the dropdown have "Display on Website" unchecked, so that doesn't seem to matter. We haven't used the portal much and want to try for volunteer hours reporting. Thanks!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had guidance on the following:

1. Is it possible to limit a user to selecting only one shift from our V4SF website sign-up page?

2. Is it possible to hide shifts from our V4SF website sign-up page once our # of Volunteers Still Needed = 0? Even with Status = Confirmed for hours, the shifts still appear on our website sign-up page as being available.

Thanks!

Limit to One Shift, Hide Shift When Full

We use Service Cloud as our company's CRM.

We actively encourage and promote volunteer opportunities for our employees and are looking to improve how we track and manage their volunteer hours so looking at V4S but have the following questions:

  • Does it work with Service Cloud (as a managed package)?
  • If we want employees to sign up for volunteer opportunities and submit hours, etc.. does it require Salesforce licenses for each (currently only about 25% have access to Salesforce)?

Any help would be appreciated.

V4SF is very old. In about a week, you can get it all up and running with a very ugly and old-fashioned web site that it public and hosted within SF site. Nobody needs a SF license but the volunteer coordinator. All is described accurately in the V4SF documentation. But it's frustrating for a newbie to set up because everything has to be exactly as described in the manual. And implementation spans quite a lot of tools and interfaces. It's far from a modern setup experience. There are a ton of features, but they all revolve around paying someone to sign up volunteers. The modern volunteer experience is very different. Expectations differ significantly. Just a warning... Your employees will hate it as consumers. You'll definitely need someone to administer it. And you'll need some expertise to set it up.

All that said, I've used the data structure to capture volunteer program activity for 20 years. It works. Nobody likes the sign-up method, but it works, too. Nobody likes the reminders, but they work.

You can put a better skin on it but that requires even more Salesforce know-how to set up an Experience Cloud site and build flows. I'd say it's about a 2 week project to implement on top of V4SF. No licenses required beyond the ability for an admin to create a public Experience Cloud site. Many licenses carry this feature now.

Turned out to be old API versions in the app - not sure why it stopped working at the exact time it did - 2 weeks after release - but it just did
