#Campaign Influence0 discussing

Does anyone know an easy way to identify the org settings and features required for package components? And does anyone have general advice for troubleshooting package version create errors?

I've been trying to create an unlocked package with components that require custom campaign influence, and it took a long time for me to figure out that I needed to add the appropriate setting in my definition file (scratch org config file): "campaignSettings: {"enableCampaignInfluence2": true}.

I was able to create the first package version successfully, but now I'm getting errors on the version create again. The only thing I changed was adding reports and dashboards based on the CustomizableCampaignInfluence report type, which is a standard report type that gets generated when the custom campaign influence is enabled.

"ERROR running force:package:version:create: MultiTouchCampaignAttribution/Campaigns_Responses_Timeline_32e: ReportType: CustomizableCampaignInfluence is not available,MultiTouchCampaignAttribution/Revenue_by_Opportunity_Type_nhZ: ReportType: CustomizableCampaignInfluence is not available,MultiTouchAttributionDashboards/caDFoKVGnLTwriPidsJZVCMKlDyojs: In field: report - no Report named MultiTouchCampaignAttributionReports/Campaigns_Responses_Timeline_32e found,MultiTouchCampaignAttribution/Top_Campaigns_SB1: ReportType: CustomizableCampaignInfluence is not available"

Is there another org setting or feature I need to add to the definition file? I can't add this report type to the package because it's standard. I tried adding a custom report type that uses the campaign influence object instead, but that didn't work either.

I noticed that when I create a new scratch org with that config file, I can't access campaign influence records until I assign my user the Sales Cloud User or CRM user permision set. I tried including this in that config file,

"features": ["SalesUser"]

but that just adds the Sales Cloud User permission set to the org, not assign it to my user. Maybe the package version create fails because no user in the scratch org can access the campaign influence object until that permission set is assigned. Do I need to create a script or something to automate the permission set assignment during the scratch org creation process?

Joe, there's a separate community group focused on unlocked packages.  I recommend hopping over there.  I've found great advice there.

Is it possible to enable the PardotScFeaturesCampaignInfluence feature in scratch orgs?

I think in need this feature to get this Campaign Influence errors fixed:

"Invalid field:OPPORTUNITY.NAME in related list:RelatedCampaignInfluence2CampaignList"

Also is it possible to enable Embedded Dashboard is scratch orgs?

"Your org doesn't have access to component runtime_marketing_btobma:embeddedCampaignDashboard."

Cannot find any documentation about this.

This is a question from the August 16 Nonprofit Ask Me Anything sessions - I am relaying the question asked live in the session + the resources the hosts shared as a follow-up.

Any tips on the Campaign influence function? I just recently learned about it and am unsure how it can help me.

Some notes shared from the hosts and attendees:

  • Make sure you are already familiar with basic campaigns
  • Some experience but not the best experience
  • Campaign and opportunity is connected via the contact
  • Having trouble pulling the report

I've been having a hard time finding clear documentation on how the standard Campaigns with Influenced Opportunities report works. I have a report that is grouped by campaign name and contact name. For one of the campaigns, there are 159 rows grouped under a blank contact name. From doing a spot check, it looks like the opportunities under the blank contact name also show up in the report under the donor name. Here's a visual example for the same opportunity grouped under the same campaign name:Blank contact names on campaign influence report

Why is this happening?

@Regina Hodge Campaign Member has a poly morphic lookup that looks up to multiple objects. In this report Contact Name is one of those fields and if you ungroup the records you will find that they are campaign member records related to another object maybe lead or whatever your setup is. You can filter this out if needed by filtering on Contact is not blank

Hello all, what is the best way to structure campaigns regarding dates for reporting? I have opp reports based report on a campaign, so If I simply change the dates of the campaign will it undo my  reports?

Should I build a new campaign and move members over with new start dates etc? Every quarter?

Is it possible to recreate the standard campaign with influenced opportunities report type so I can add products. So far I have tried but it does not seem to be possible.

Has anyone else tried to do this as I also want to be able to report on the opportunity products

     Hi Mark,

It does not seem possible, as the Campaigns with Influenced Opportunities report displays Campaigns that have Opportunities associated with multiple methods:

-> Use of the Add to Campaign button on the Campaign Influence related list on the Opportunity record (Campaign Influence 1.0 only)

-> Enter a Campaign in the Primary Campaign Source field on the Opportunity record (any Campaign saved in this field will be reported, even if it is later removed or replaced)

    Hi Niza,

    Hi Nate,

According to this help article, it looks like deleting a campaign will not delete Opportunity Influence records: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=campaigns_influence_customizable_understanding.htm

NOTE: To preserve opportunity data, we don’t delete custom campaign influence records when you delete an associated campaign. You can delete campaign influence records from the Opportunity related list or via the API.

I can't get one of my campaigns to show up in the campaign influence related record on opps. I have it set up so:

1. There is a contact role on the opp and the opp is open

2. The campaign is active

3. campaign influence related record is on the page layout

4. I am a pardot user and have my default Model set to "even distribution model"

As far as I can tell from the HIGHLY ambiguous documentation around campaign influence I have set this up properly but still when I try to change the close date on this opp, or remove/re-add them from the campaign still does not show up in campaign influence related records.

    Hi Michael,

    - IF the Opportunity was created from a Contact record. If this instance doesn't occur, then the Primary Campaign will be empty on newly created Opportunities (unless you create a process, flow, or apex logic to auto-populate it). In these instances, you can assign a campaign to the Opportunity manually using the Lookup field.

     - Customizable Campaign Influence models use auto-association to create campaign influence records based on the criteria you set.

Criteria include time frame and campaign types, and you can add other filters using standard fields. The same settings govern all your models.

You can set an auto-association time frame in Setup to limit when a member-contact relationship is considered influential.

To allow users to make their own choices about a campaign’s percentage of influence, create a custom model.

If you have additional questions or need further details, just let me know and I will be happy to assist further.

    Thanks,

    Tanaya

Hi everyone! This is a question about the Primary Campaign Source on Opportunities. What happens if I (or Sales) fills this in—but then the opportunity is eventually influenced by other campaigns? Will those campaigns show up in the Campaign Influence sidebar on those opportunities, and will they be reflected in Campaign Influence reports? Or does Primary Campaign Source override those other campaigns?

Hi @Cindy Akus Can we do a variable influence allocation for pardot attribution models - Eg: First Touch-20%, Last Touch - 40% & the rest distributed to everything in b/w?

Is there any plan to incorporate this into the Campaign Influence modeling? I would love to be able to use this functionality for my ABM campaigns so we can show & measure influence. I would imagine this would require the ability to add Accounts as Contact Roles or an auto-association behind the scenes?
