HandsOn Connect

Hi,

We are a NPSP customer and supply meals to partner charities and people in need. Our operations are about 90% powered by volunteers.

We are looking for a tool / system to manage volunteers, from managing volunteer applications, getting their contact details and WWCC info, registering them for volunteering sessions, managing their hours, and maintaining a pool of volunteers we can reach out to as needed. Other helpful add-ons would be recognising top volunteers with most hours and rewarding them with their respective milestones.

What do other NPSP customers use for volunteer management? We've researched a lot and most have trouble integrating with SF or is super costly to integrate. As a NFP org, cost of the system and set up is something we would like to keep at a low minimum.

Please help. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

    Thanks @Paul Holden, appreciate the response. We've already tried V4S before checking external solutions that can integrate with SF. We wanted so bad for this to work, but unfortunately, it is not that customisable and UI was not that great. Glad to know though that it is working well for you and the team. :)

I am looking for something that is compatible with V4S's custom objects (Jobs, Shifts, and Hours), but with a nicer interface for volunteers. Ideally volunteers will be able to sign up, check in, provide basic information about themselves or sign release forms, and log in to a portal to see their hours worked (the last one is a really nice to have but not a requirement).

Thanks in advance for any advice, recommendations, etc.!

    @HandsOn Connect is the most robust volunteer management and engagement tool I know of and it has a great .NET interface that comes with it—no need to purchase Experience Cloud licenses. (Full disclosure: I used to work with that team. They are excellent!)

My volunteer team want to try some things out. We spun up a sandbox and HOC is working, except for the CMS site. Is there another way to test out the volunteer-facing site?

I’m wondering what volunteer platforms people are using that do a good job of integrating with Salesforce. I’ve tried V4S and was pretty disappointed. Any raving fans for another platform out there that I should look into?  We are a small nonprofit and rely heavily on volunteers.

    Thanks, all!

    @Piyusha Pilania I wish V4S would work but the front end seems awful.  The UI looks outdated and the login process where the volunteers have to request a link via email everytime they want to log-in  seems pretty clunky too.  it feels like it hasn't been updated in years.  I'd love to hear otherwise though if I'm missing something as it would be much easier to go with V4S than pay for another option.

Hello everyone. My organization is transitioning for from Raiser's Edge to Salesforce. Any advise or things you wish you knew prior/during transitioning? Are there any tools that have changed your life for the better when using Opportunities to track fundraising? how did you handle user adoption?

    @Yamile Pacheco Cueva

    The key thing to be aware of is that your project will be a success or a failure based on 1 key thing. Is your data model working well (that includes campaign management, but also much more) and data migration done well (I would totally recommend getting it done by an org that has a strong experience in migrating RE to SF)

    The next key point is if you have recuring donation. Migrating RD is can be complex and there is a lot of choices to make along the way.

So, with V4S MOBILE no longer supporting new customers due to the "downturn in volunteerism after the pandemic", does anyone know of another platform providing the same sort of product? We have more volunteers than ever and were in the process of preparing to launch this app.
