I Heart Permission Sets

A group for all people who love permission sets. Lets geek out on how awesome they are and all the different and interesting permission / security use cases that can be solved using them while avoiding the dreaded Profile Proliferation.

Salesforce Optimizer doesn't appear to recognize Permission Sets in assigned Permission Set Groups as being assigned. Is there a plan to reconcile this?

Let me look into this with my team.  I thought we had fixed this a couple of years ago, maybe we have a new bug.

I found the solution that it needs to PSL "Salesforce API Integration", but do I need to replicate all the object access or is that included in the Profile: Minimum Access - API Only Integrations?

I have a large group of System Administrators and I need to start restricting access. What are the permissions I WON'T be able to provide via permission sets or Delegated Administration? (Examples: Deploy Change Sets, Assign Installed Package Licenses, etc.?)

Thank you. I went through this early last year but Salesforce has made some changes to Perm Sets and Perm Set Groups so I hoped they'd created a list somewhere. But this info about the Role and PSGs reminded me of how we set it up before. Thanks.

How will System Administrator full access be handled with the profile to permission set transition? Will we now have to manually build that full access for every org? It can't be built in Permission Sets or PSGs because there will be users with the Manage Permission Sets permission who can tamper with it. Won't it have to remain in Profiles to preserve the security of the 5 "Permissions of Death"?

Also, Packages usually have 3 options: System Admin, All Users, Specific Profiles. How will that new full access be added to only the System Administrators? #Best Practices #System Administrator Profile

📢Maintain your credentials AND link 🔗your accounts for your status to show as current

Certification maintenance emails went out last week to all #CertifiedPros that need to complete their Spring '18 and/or Summer '18 maintenance modules by December 14. BUT JUST MAINTAINING ISN'T ENOUGH. You must ALSO link your Trailhead and Webassessor accounts so your maintenance status shows as “current” in Webassessor.

🎁If you link your accounts by Nov 30th you'll be entered to win a #CertifiedPro gift box. Here's how you link:

  1. Go to http://sfdc.co/mystatus
  2. Enter your Webassessor email address and hit Request
  3. Check your inbox and follow the steps to link

If you have questions, feel free to post here!

    @Nick Gibbons

, The app builder maintenance module gave me the error: “name: Compare Contacts vs Emps.” When I double checked my work and hit the check challenge again, it threw another error, “Challenge already completed.” When I checked, the badge and points were awarded. I’ve never had that happen before; maybe it’s the same for you.

If not, and your flow is configured correctly, check the following:

    1) names of your elements; they must match the names in the challenge exactly (ex. The screens that will be displayed are named “Equal” and “Not Equal”).

    2) If you’ve created the elements according to the challenge (no additional elements are required), then check that you’ve activated it.

    3) Then make sure to add the flow component to the lightning page (assuming you’re in lightning).

    Hope that helps, good luck.
