Hello there... interesting but I m quite sure that implementing an autonumber this way within a trigger and select MAX SOQL is NOT thread safe... so in case you run a batch that creates for instance in parallel multiple transactions (opportunities here) that the parallel threads may query the exact same last MAX number and thus create opportunities with the exact sale NEXT +1 incremented sequence number... in the underlying database, when we use the autonumber feature, i think there must be some provisioning/locking mecanism that forces  calling requests to be handled/satisfied 1 by 1 (necessary bottleneck)...

Anyone else excited for the briefly mentioned, at least to non-Connect members, upcoming GTD for Teams book?

From what was mentioned in the public podcast, it will be interesting to see how Agile is meshed with GTD with David’s, and likely others, take on it.

That would be very cool. We @Arkus, Inc. are a 100% GTD shop, train on it, talk about it, use it every single day so it would be cool to see what they say.

Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Gift Entry 101 — Arkus, Inc. (arkusinc.com)

Kelly: Thank you so much for this. I just set this up for AWA to try to replace Apsona, and it seems like it's working wonderfully and sooooo customizable. You aren't kidding about the "don't delete anything from the NPSP Data Import Object or mappings until you've deleted it from the template"! I had to add a picklist value to the DIO field Opp Type, and to get it to show up on my new template, I had to delete the mapping, then re-create it. Not too difficult. But then, we couldn't create any new batch templates and kept getting the spinning wheel of death! All because I just hadn't deleted then added back the field to the other templates. And we kept getting a weird error on saving single gifts. Anyway, checking my Setup Audit Trail and your article, and there it was.

SO! Word to the wise, when making mapping changes, always just look at all of your template fields, and you'll know immediately by the big red "Field Not Found," that you've got to change it. Ooof.
