Hi
I am looking for a way to send out welcome emails from marketing cloud when an account is created in SFDC. I know that I am late to the game but I am really confused as to how I should be inserting new contacts into a journey & have these emails sent out in real-time so we don't miss out on any contacts.

I think “Marketing Cloud Connect” triggered send can also be configured to be used in Apex trigger. I haven’t tried this personally but here is YouTube video which goes through steps and seems pretty simple which might not require technical team support -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCIEAWdCpc8Above should work, but just as a worst case scenario, you might want to involve technical team to try out above so they can have a look and if still above doesn’t work, they can write Apex class to call SFMC API in order to trigger a journey or triggered send
