Agents have FLS for most fields on opportunity and we have something called SA1 records. Those are the records owned by 'System Admin 1' user. Agents can access those records from a related list. But we wanna restrict them to search for Opportunities with just email or phone. They should not be able to find say opportunities in a particular state or address from global search.

Looking for suggestions on how to deal with Address Management in NPSP. Specifically, around mass updating addresses. We got an updated list from NCOA and I am trying to determine the best way to add/verify the new addresses.  In some spot checking, we do already have the address that NCOA gave us, but it's not the default address anymore, at least in our SF. So I would not want to "add" a duplicate address.  So I am wondering what others do?  I mean there has got to be a way. Any upload tools out there that would help with this?  I have XL-Connector and I know I could export and do some vlookup's, etc to help, but I just looking for any short cuts to help, beside manually reviewing all of the records

Address management becomes rather awkward once historical addresses enter the picture. Checking existing Address records against the latest data should come before creating anything new. A matching process using Contact and Address IDs could make the cleanup considerably easier. NCOA data can then be applied with fewer surprises. Otherwise, duplicate addresses have a remarkable talent for multiplying.

Account Engagement User Management Page Continuously Loading (Spinner) - Unable to Assign Administrator Access

Customer is unable to access

Account Engagement Settings → User Management → Users. The page remains stuck on a loading spinner and never loads, preventing user management and assignment of additional Administrator access.

Impact: Unable to view/manage users.

Request:

Please help on the continuous loading issue on the Users page and advise on any permission, configuration, or backend errors causing the behavior. Screenshot attached for reference.

    Hi @Akhilesh Prajapati

This is Account Engagement (Pardot) territory. The infinite spinner on

Account Engagement Settings → User Management → Users is a known symptom pattern, almost always tracing back to the Salesforce↔Pardot connector/session layer rather than an actual "Users" bug. I checked the linked community thread it has 0 replies, so no prior resolution to build on there.

Here's the diagnostic order I'd work through, most-likely-cause first:

    1. Check Connector authentication statusGo to Account Engagement Settings → Connectors and check the Salesforce connector's status. If it shows an auth error (commonly surfaces as Pardot API Error 184 authentication failure), that alone is enough to hang User Management, since that page pulls live data through the connector session. Reauthenticate the connector user if it's broken.
    2. Confirm the connector user still has correct accessThe user account the Salesforce Pardot connector runs as needs an active Salesforce license, System Administrator (or equivalent) profile, and the Account Engagement Administrator role in Pardot. If that user was deactivated, had their profile changed, or lost the Pardot role assignment, the connector silently fails and pages like this spin forever instead of erroring cleanly.
    3. Rule out browser-side blocking (very common cause)Account Engagement Settings loads inside a Salesforce Canvas app (an iframe calling out to Pardot's API). Third party cookie blocking (Safari/Chrome privacy settings), ad blockers, or browser extensions frequently break this silently. Test in an incognito/private window with extensions disabled, and try a different browser entirely before assuming it's a config issue.
    4. Check Session Settings for Clickjack Protection / IP restrictionsIn Salesforce Setup → Session Settings, aggressive Clickjack Protection settings or 'Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated' can block the Canvas iframe from completing its callout. Also check Login IP Ranges on the connector user's profile if Pardot's servers aren't whitelisted, the callout can hang rather than fail visibly.
    5. Check for multiple Business UnitsIf this org has more than one Account Engagement Business Unit, User Management can hang if the specific Business Unit context is ambiguous or misconfigured for the logged-in user. Confirm which Business Unit the affected admin is scoped to, and that their Salesforce profile maps correctly to it under Business Unit Setup.
    6. Escalate to Salesforce Support with the network traceIf all of the above check out, open a case with Salesforce Support (this is a Pardot/Account Engagement product issue, not something fixable via Apex/Flow/config alone). Capture a browser dev-tools Network tab trace of the failed page load first the failing XHR call to Pardot's API will usually show the real error code even though the UI just shows a spinner.

Quickest first move: step 1 (Connectors auth status) and step 3 (incognito/different browser) these two catch the majority of real-world cases of this exact symptom. If the connector shows green/authenticated and it still hangs in a clean browser, jump to step 4 (Session Settings) before assuming it needs a Support case.

I hope you find the above information helpful. If it does, Please mark it as Best Answer to help others too.

Hello.

We have a field Work_Type__c picklist field on the Milestone object that references a Picklist value set. We want to instead add picklist values manually. Is this conversion possible or do I have to create a new pick list field and then add my picklist values manually?

Thank you,

Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

No, you can't convert it  — Salesforce doesn't provide a button/toggle in Setup to switch a picklist from "uses a Global Value Set" to "enter values manually"

(or vice versa) for an existing field.

Go to Setup → Object Manager → Your Object → Fields & Relationships → Your Field

    Click Edit

You'll see the picklist is tied to a Global Value Set — there is

    no option

here to detach it and switch to manual values. This choice is locked in at field creation and isn't editable afterward.

Hello.

We have turned on Account Plans in our Sandbox environment. For the Relationship Map we would like to somehow show a parallel org chart. For example. The CEO of Google and the CEO of our company Syska Hennessy Group. Is this possible?

It seems that the native Salesforce Account plans is limited regarding customization.

Please let me know if further information is needed.

Is there another account plans tool that is recommended that offers more flexibility to make customizations?

Thank you,

Nancy

@Nancy MagalhaesOne limitation I’d consider is the underlying data model: the native Relationship Map is primarily account/contact relationship-focused, so a true side-by-side “customer org + our internal org” hierarchy is difficult to maintain dynamically.

If this is a recurring sales use case, I’d model the internal stakeholders and customer contacts as related records with an explicit relationship type (Decision Maker, Executive Sponsor, Account Owner, etc.), then surface those relationships through a custom LWC. That would keep the visualization data-driven instead of relying on manually added cards, while still keeping everything inside Salesforce.

How to Finish this Salesforce Admin badge:

Customize A Salesforce Object > Customize Record Page

Salesforce Object Customization Guide

If you get this error:

"Make sure that the Customer Account Page has been activated for the 'Support User' profile.

You have to go to your org and edit the 'Custom: Support Profile' to 'Support User'

Same with the Sales profile.

Seems Salesforce updated org profile names but did not update the Trailhead module.

Considering how long I have been in the ecosystem, I am actually embarrassed to ask this question. (In my defense, it's not something I look at often). Anyway, when adding a spouse/partner to a Household account, via the Manage Household button, I noticed that after adding the person, and then going to their contact record, on the Account related list, it is NOT showing the Household account, it just shows as "0". On the contact record itself, the related Account record is there, it's just not showing up on the Account related list.

Why would that be?

The contacts are not marked as private, I don't have any dup rules that would prevent creation, etc. So I am a bit baffled.

Hi all, I just failed my Salesforce Admin Certification for the second time and now I have to wait until the new Spring release quiz after April 23, 2026. I’m wondering if anyone has been in this situation and how did you prepare to succeed on your third attempt…especially with my next attempt coming with a brand new releases of questions. Definitely down and feeling like I will never pass this cert, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I am struggling with some limitations of native Salesforce reporting and wondering if it's time to move to PowerBi or Tableau. We are a nonprofit working to reduce poverty in our community. One of the primary challenges is that we have a "lifetime" model, which means that people can engage in our services, disengage and then re-engage at a later date, as long as they are still in poverty (mix of federal guidelines and our own cost of living data). Each time a person engages with us, we create a new Intake and that Intake is then connected to other objects like trainings, employments, service plans, etc. So in effect each Intake (we call it Program Engagement) is like a chapter of a person's journey with us. This allows us to do some time based reporting as well as holistic outcomes. The challenge is that not everything is connected to a program engagement, as some things are more "evergreen" and not just tied to a specific point in time. For example we track referrals, and since people can come and go, the place they were referred by "today" may not be the place they get referred by 2 years from now. We can get a LOT of reporting via native reports, using report types, lookups, etc however, there are just times when the lifetime model creates some data/outcome "noise". So I am wondering if moving to PowerBi or Tableau would be the best long term solution, however, those solutions do come with a new learning curve, costs, etc.  As we want to keep people in Salesforce as much as possible and not have some Dashboards in SF and then other dashboards in PowerBi, etc.  So what are the pros/cons? Price is one, visibility is another, as not everyone needs to create Dashboards/reports but still need to view them. So....?

    Hello Heath,

Honestly, what you’re describing is exactly the kind of scenario where Salesforce native reporting starts to feel stretched. It works great for structured, object-based reporting, but once you get into a lifetime journey model with re-engagements, mixed time contexts, and loosely connected data, it creates noise that’s hard to cleanly model in standard reports. That’s usually the signal to at least consider something like Tableau or Power BI — not because Salesforce is failing, but because your data storytelling has become more complex than what report types and joins can comfortably handle.

That said, I wouldn’t jump tools immediately. External BI tools shine when you need cross-object, time-series, historical layering, and flexible data modeling — basically building a cleaner “analytics layer” on top of Salesforce. They’ll let you reshape your data and remove that noise.

A lot of orgs in your situation land on a hybrid approach — keep operational dashboards in Salesforce, and use Power BI/Tableau for impact reporting, leadership insights, and longitudinal analysis where your lifetime model really matters. So yes, it’s less about when to move completely and more about when to extend, and from what you described, you’re pretty close to that point. Hope this helps!
