Salesforce Military FAQ

The Salesforce Military program is a free, self-paced program designed to help our members (current and transitioning military service members and their spouses, Gold Star Children and veterans from all eras) learn in-demand tech skills, earn highly sought after Salesforce certifications and connect with hiring partners to launch their career in tech.

The optional, free class that you qualify for is based on the Salesforce Military Career Path that you select.

For example, if you choose the Administrator path and complete the required Trailhead modules, you will qualify to sign up for the associated "Administration Essentials for New Admins" classes available to Salesforce Military members.

Trailhead Academy runs the classes and generously provides two seats in most classes for our members. Due to this, classes MUST be scheduled via a Support Case raised directly through Salesforce Military website on Trailhead. We manually approve each class request to ensure that only two Salesforce Military members are assigned to a class. We only support virtual classes. The classes are very popular and our seats are claimed quickly. In some cases, when demand is high, there may not be a seat available for many weeks.

Many members choose to decline the class and proceed straight to studying for their exam. When a class is declined, the member automatically receives a certification exam voucher via email. This is a great way to move forward with your goals without having to wait for a seat to become available.

First, you must complete the required learning module for the Salesforce Military Certification that you are interested in. Once the learning module is completed, you will be prompted to choose between a Class or the Certification voucher. If you raise a Support case to get the virtual class voucher, once Salesforce Military confirms there is a space available, you will receive an email with the class you have been assigned and a promo code to waive the fee.

The Salesforce Military program and resources distributed to you are solely for your own personal use. Resources like exam vouchers, class promo codes, and all other program benefits can not be shared, transferred, sold, or distributed in any way. Violating these rules and/or the Terms of Use may result in termination from the Salesforce Military program.

Class Attendance:

Class attendance, and the issuing of the voucher code from the Salesforce Military program to cover the cost of a class, are limited to one class at a time.

Once a class request is approved and the voucher code is issued, you have 7 days to complete your class registration. If the class registration is not completed in 7 days, your class approval will be canceled and your seat will be made available to other Salesforce Military members. If, for any reason, you are unable to complete your class registration or attend your class, you must submit a support ticket to Salesforce Military for assistance.

If you decide to request for a certification voucher instead, your certification exam voucher will be emailed to you instantly on clicking collect benefits for the relevant certification in My benefits section.

*Classes are optional and can be declined. If you choose to decline a class, you will be emailed a free exam voucher and are able to register to take the exam whenever you are ready.

Salesforce Employee Class Attendance:

Salesforce employees may not attend Trailhead Academy classes using class vouchers available through the Salesforce Military program. If you are a Salesforce Employee interested in attending a Trailhead Academy class, please refer to the internal process for employees.

Once you've completed the required learning Trailhead module for your chosen goal, the certification will appear in the My benefits section on the Salesforce Military page in Trailhead with a Collect Benefits link next to it. On clicking Collect Benefits and choosing a certification voucher, a certification exam voucher will be emailed to you. This email will include the exam voucher code, instructions on how to use the code, and the expiration date of your exam voucher.

The exam voucher provided by Salesforce Military covers the ~$200 fee to take a certification exam. Please note, to avoid the risk of your exam voucher expiring before you're ready to use it, do not claim your exam voucher until you are ready to schedule and sit for your exam.

To schedule an exam, visit Trailhead Academy. Enter the voucher code during checkout to waive the cost.

We know certification exams can be stressful, but we've been there and so have thousands of Military Trailblazers. Find the official exam guide and more resources on Trailhead to prepare for your exam here.

Best of luck in your studies, you got this!

The certification exams are difficult, even with years of Salesforce experience. Salesforce Military provides 1 exam retake voucher per certification. If you did not pass the exam and would like to request your retake voucher, please submit a support ticket.

Study hard, practice the concepts you learn in Trailhead in a playground or developer org, and don't give up. You can do it! Good luck!
