Hi everyone, I'm Seán Doyle, Lead at the World Economic Forum's Centre for Cybersecurity in Geneva, Switzerland. I've loved every minute of my work in cybersecurity but I didn't come to cyber from a traditional computer science background and I want you all to know that skills from outside tech can give you a good entry point into cyber.

A winding route into the field shouldn't be seen as an obstacle - I've worked at everything from waiting tables to working with race horses and eventually came into cyber via journalism and corporate investigations.

Learn how the cybersecurity industry benefits from hiring people with various backgrounds and skill sets with Melonia da Gama, Director of Marketing at Fortinet’s NSE Training Institute, and Lynn Simons, Senior Director of Security Awareness and Engagement at Salesforce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lssBsGFa_SU.

We'd love to hear from our Trailblazers with unique backgrounds about what steps you have taken to become more #SecuritySavvy! "

Thank you for this very encouraging message! I'm currently working as a 7th grade Math Teacher; I have an undergraduate degree in History. 🤣🤣🤣 I have gained my ISC2 certification and I'm still learning in preparation for my first Cybersecurity role.

When it comes to protecting data from the inside of a Salesforce org, one of the biggest challenges is understanding the type of information each user needs access to. But, by following the principle of least privilege — a fundamental tenet of information security — you'll be able to limit user permissions to help prevent unauthorized access to sensitive records and information. Ultimately, following this principle can significantly reduce the amount of security risk an organization faces.

⬇️ Check out the resources below to learn more about how implementing the principle of least privilege can help protect your valuable data. ⬇️

🎓 And of course, continue your learning on Trailhead to learn even more about the principle of least privilege!

I enjoyed the security blog article on PLP. The illustration allowed me to visualize this security feature's importance and auditing's importance.
