Yes, tools like Salesforce Inspector can help with API names too. 

But I wanted something more seamless with Salesforce Metada Navigator

👉 You're already on the Record Details page  

👉 Click Show/Copy API 

👉 See the API names right next to the fields 

👉 Ctrl + Click to select multiple API names 

👉 Copy them all at once 

👉 Paste directly into the SOQL Query Editor 

And here's the part that saves even more time:

The copied API names are automatically converted into SOQL format. ⚡

No opening another tab. 

No jumping between pages. 

No copying fields one by one. 

No manually formatting your query. 

Just:

Record Page → Select Fields → Copy → Paste → SOQL 🚀 

It's a small feature, but these are the kinds of small workflow improvements that can save a surprising amount of time when you're working in Salesforce every day.

I’ve added a mini Object Manager to Salesforce Metadata Navigator

to make getting to object-related setup pages quicker. 

For example, open an object and you can see its page layouts right in the plugin window. Click a page layout to go directly to that specific page layout, instead of clicking through Object Manager to find it. You can also bookmark frequently used objects for quick access later. 

It can save three or four clicks and the time spent waiting and navigating. 

Sharing a new update to the Salesforce Metadata Navigator plugin. 

The plugin now supports:

• comparing Profiles and Permission Sets together
• reviewing differences side by side
• updating both Profiles and Permission Sets directly from the plugin

This helps reduce the time spent navigating across different setup pages when reviewing or adjusting access. It is especially useful when validating security differences, troubleshooting user access, or cleaning up permission models. 

A few key improvements:

• compare Profiles vs Permission Sets in one place
• review changes before saving
• update access directly through the plugin
• streamline admin and architect workflows

Built this to make permission analysis and maintenance much more practical inside day-to-day Salesforce work. Would love feedback from the community. 

Built a new Object Explorer experience into Salesforce Metadata Navigator

 to cut down the clicks it takes to inspect object setup. 

You can jump into a specific object’s configuration from anywhere and browse it in a mini Salesforce-style Object Manager layout right inside the extension. Instead of bouncing through multiple Setup pages, you can quickly access: 

• Details
• Fields & Relationships
• Page Layouts
• Lightning Record Pages
• Buttons, Links, and Actions
• Compact Layouts
• Field Sets
• Record Types
• Search Layouts
• Object and Field Access
• Triggers
• Validation Rules
• and more

The goal was simple: reduce navigation time for admins and architects who spend too much time drilling through Setup just to find one object setting. 

It gives you a faster way to inspect metadata, open the exact setup page you need, and move between object-level configurations without losing context. 

If you work across multiple objects every day, this makes admin work feel much more direct and a lot less click-heavy.

One small Salesforce debugging pain point I wanted to solve: 

You see a validation rule error in the debug logs, but you have no idea where it’s coming from.

In large orgs, manually checking objects and validation rules can take forever. 

So I added a feature in my Salesforce Metadata Navigator

plugin that lets you search validation rules using:

🔍 Validation rule name 

🔍 Object name 

The plugin searches across your metadata and helps you instantly find the exact validation rule causing the issue. 

This has already been a big time saver during debugging and support work.

I built a Salesforce metadata plugin that helps with things like: 

•  Comparing and editing permission sets
•  Navigating to objects, fields, flows, and validation rules faster

Permission set manager features: 

•  Pick 1 or 2+ permission sets to compare/EDIT side-by-side.
•  See exactly where they differ (object, field, system, Apex classes, VF).
•  Edit permissions directly and save changes back to Salesforce.
•  Export csv with the permissions.

Hey Salesforce Trailblazers! ☁️ 

I’ve been hacking away at a side project to solve a personal frustration, and I wanted to see if other Admins would actually find this useful before I take it to the next level. 

The Problem:

I spend way too much time navigating through the Object Manager just to find one specific field. It’s a lot of clicks, a lot of loading screens, and a lot of wasted time. 

The Tool: A lightweight "Field Finder" plugin.

• You type the Object name (it has autocomplete).
• It instantly lists all the Fields.
• You click the field, and it teleports you directly to that field’s settings page in Setup.

It’s currently in a "working prototype" stage. I’m trying to decide if I should put more time into polishing it and making it available for you guys to test and use.

 Faster Profile & Permission Set navigation inside Setup 

Hey Trailblazers 👋 

While working in large Salesforce orgs, one thing that consistently slows me down is navigating Profiles and Permission Sets. 

Loading the page, searching for the profile, waiting again, then clicking through menu items like Object Settings or Apex Classes… it adds friction, especially when Salesforce pages take their time in big orgs. 

I’ve added a new feature to Salesforce Metadata Navigator to reduce this. 

What’s new:

• Search Profiles and Permission Sets directly
• Load all related menu items in one place (Object Settings, Apex Classes, Connected Apps, etc.)
• Click any item and land directly on the exact Setup page

The idea is simple: 

Skip the waiting and unnecessary clicks. 

I’d really appreciate feedback from the community:

• Are there specific Profile/Permission Set sections you access most?
• Anything missing here that would save you more time?
