Salesforce Inbox:

Client is using Outlook. Calendar Events sync to Salesforce as a new calendar, not the user's calendar. Hence, these events do not show up on the Today's Events lightning component. How do we get all calendar events to appear on the Today's Events component?

Without this, the client is questioning the value of the license fee. It doesn't make sense to them for each user to have two calendars in Salesforce.

SF Inbox: Outlook Events do not create an Event record in SF, hence the activity is not measurable. SF just shows a window in Outlook. One of the major failings of SF Inbox. Therefore, they will not appear in Today's Events component.

I'm typing this email when all of the sudden my outlook starts going crazy.  First the person's signature to whom I'm replying jumps up before my cursor while I'm typing and before I can figure out what is happening my paragraph literally disappears!  Then as I look around the screen to the still docked email window, I see all the stuff I circled in yellow highlighter.

So I decide to I'm going to screen snap the entire screen to share with this group.  After doing so, I thought maybe I will "pop out" the email into its own window and the bottom snip is the result.  I'm thinking 1) Inbox might be doing something to my Outlook - as I've seen goofy icons (two or three) once before and didn't think much, 2) Gremlin are in the machine or 3) my workstation or outlook may have suffered a seizure or may have been infected with Covid?  :)  Leaning heavily towards something wrong with Outlook & Inbox playing nice together as no other app that is open including the internet that i'm typing this post is acting out of sorts.  Any advice or past experience would greatly appreciated.

Mike

FYI, I had to close Outlook b/c nothing worked.  When I get back to inbox, fully typed email is back, like nothing ever happened.  All the text is there, just fine....  #Gremlins

We were able to install the plug-in and see the Inbox pane in Gmail. But what we've built in Lightning App Builder in our Sandbox, is not what we see on the pane in our Gmail. Is there some reason why the changes to the pane view in Sandbox wouldn't carry over to what we see live in our Gmail?

The Gmail view doesn't include our work queue, and other updates to the we made to the lightning app builder pane view. Please see screenshots below.

Please excuse the length of this screenshot but hopefully this gives you a idea of how this should be setup.

Hey All,  Having some issues at my org where the add Availability function in Salesforce Inbox is stating "Your message must have at least one recipient" even when a recipient has been added.

  • We are integrated with Gmail.
  • We are using Lightning.
  • We have tried with users related to Salesforce records and users not related to Salesforce records.
  • Tried uninstalling & disconnecting email/calendar account.

Hoping someone may have insight into this issue.

Best,

Cody

I actually just got off a support call with a Salesforce rep and this Known Issue was brought up. Which is what is happening at our org. Hopefully, it gives you an answer as well.

Is it possible within the Availability function in Inbox to have user calendars automatically populate based on fields that are filled out or the specific account team that is attached to the person account? For example, if we have an account team assigned to a specific person account, when we schedule a meeting through Availability, is it possible to have that account team's calendars automatically be selected for the client they are scheduling a meeting with so that way they are having to search for the right calendars to add to the meeting?

    Hello,

If you enable email drafts you could then try to target an email message as it's being written.

I would suggest a checkbox along the lines of add opportunity team or add account team that then runs an automation to add in these people as recipients of the email.

As inbox displays availability based on the recipients, this should then show you the required calendars.

This is however a working theory and as such would need to be tested thoroughly in a sandbox before you make any changes to your live system.

    Thanks Tom

I have been using a combination of Salesforce ActivityMetric feature and Pardot´s dynamic lists and

Pardot Last Activity field to keep track of inactive contacts (in my ORG we are only using person accounts, not leads).

I would like to ask for your suggestions and ideas about which (out of the box) automation features or which fields are YOU using (from Salesforce), to find out which contacts are inactive: not opening emails, have recent tasks and so on.

I know the Salesforce field called LastActivityDate, but this does not keep track of email interactions (we have Gmail integration) or related tasks.

Any suggestions?

Ciao a tutti,

ho qualche problema con la registrazione delle mail in salesforce.

Ho notato che SF logga alcune mail anche se non clicco LOG EMAIL sul pannello di Outlook.

Sto usando Inbox (senza attivare Einstei Activity Capture) e Lightning Sync.

Qualcuno ha qualche suggerimento?

Grazie

I am confused as to how Inbox relates to getting our Outlook integrated with Salesforce. Do you need an Inbox license in order to have Outlook Integration?? Or can the Outlook Integration be done solely without having an Inbox license?

Hi all,

I use Inbox to connect Outlook and Salesforce.

In order to log automatically some email to Salesforce can I use Einstein Activity Capture?

With EAC can I choose criteria to relate mail to SF record?

Is Einstein activity capture included in the inbox license?

tks
