Hi Automotive Cloud community,

I am learning the basics about Automotive Cloud.

When you create an asset you don't see any possibility to attach a vehicle on the layout. Even if I added the field Vehicle on the Asset page layout, it is not being displayed on the Asset record I just created. If a review the record page, the field Vehicle is there but as read only. .If I check the FLS on the field Vehicle on the Asset object, it appears as editable or visible. That is a weird thing.

Besides, I see that first when I go to the Vehicle record I want to associate with the Asset record I created, and associate the asset I created on that Vehicle page layout, the vehicle gets associated with the asset I created on the Asset page layout.

Can please somebody explain to me this weird behavior?.

This behavior is actually related to how Automotive Cloud handles object relationships between Vehicle and Asset records. In many cases, the Vehicle lookup on Asset is controlled by the data model configuration rather than just page layout or FLS, which is why it shows as read-only on the Asset side.

The association is often intended to be created from the Vehicle record first, which then propagates the relationship back to the Asset—this is why you’re seeing it work in that direction.

If you’re working on vehicle data management or need to validate vehicle records (like accident history or related info in real-world use cases), this tool might also help in practical scenarios:

It’s a common pattern in Automotive Cloud to restrict direct edits depending on system logic and relationship ownership.

    Hi there,

Great question! To answer directly: Web-to-Lead forms cannot be reliably embedded in emails because most email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) strip out JavaScript and block form submissions for security reasons.

Better Approach: CTA Button → Landing Page

Instead of embedding a form, include a compelling call-to-action (CTA) button in your email that links to a landing page with your Web-to-Lead form. This approach offers significant advantages:

    Tracking & Conversion Benefits:

    • Full funnel visibility: email open → click → page visit → form submission
    • A/B test headlines, images, and form fields to optimize conversions
    • Track abandonment rates and refine your messaging
    • Multi-touch attribution across campaigns

    Lead Quality Benefits:

    • Offer something valuable in exchange for filling out the form (vehicle info, trade-in estimates, financing options, case studies)
    • Use progressive fields to capture more detailed vehicle preferences
    • Pre-qualify leads with conditional questions

Automotive Cloud Integration: If you're using Automotive Cloud, landing page forms can populate not just the Lead record, but also LeadLineItem (vehicle interests, VIN, price range) and LeadPreferredSeller (dealer relationships) - giving your sales team much richer lead data.

The key is making the landing page valuable enough that prospects want to complete the form. Test different offers and messaging to see what resonates!

    Hope this helps!

Hello, I am trying to determine the best method to match Dealers to a Customer Account.

i.e. our Org is a dealer network and customers (accounts) can be customers of multiple dealers. i.e. they may have bought vehicles from different dealers or service at different dealers.

Dealers are of course represented by Accounts too.

Has any one architected such a data structure

the best I can come up with is anew relationship with a custom junction object. I am just surprised that Auto Cloud doesn't already have something

    Hello,

This is a common challenge in dealer network implementations — matching dealers with the right customer accounts efficiently and accurately.

Recommended Approach: Use Experience Cloud for Dealer Assignment

    Salesforce Help suggests leveraging

Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud) to facilitate the assignment of leads or opportunities to dealer groups. This architecture enables a scalable and easily maintainable structure for dealer distribution and access control Salesforce

By creating a gated dealer portal through Experience Cloud, you can:

    • Define dealer groups and map them to specific account segments or territories.
    • Control visibility and access — dealers only see accounts assigned to them.
    • Automate the handoff of leads or opportunities from your internal team to external dealer networks.

    Implementation Steps

    might include:

    1. Set up an Experience Cloud site for dealers.
    2. Configure dealer groups or roles within that site.
    3. Build assignment logic — perhaps using criteria such as geography, industry, or dealer specialization.
    4. Automate assignment via Flow, Apex, or declarative sharing rules based on these criteria.
    5. Monitor and audit assignments to ensure accuracy.

I have an OmniScript where I select a value using a Typeahead component, and I need to pass this value to a FlexCard so it displays related data. I’ve been trying to achieve this within the same step as the Typeahead, but it only works if I place the FlexCard in a second step. However, I need the FlexCard to be in the same step as the Typeahead.

Could you help me with this? I would really appreciate it!
