Have you ever struggled with bot clicks inflating your email engagement metrics and disrupting your journeys in Marketing Cloud? 🤔

I’ve submitted an IdeaExchange suggestion to address this challenge: Marketing Cloud should automatically detect and exclude bot clicks from human engagement.

This improvement will enhance reporting accuracy, optimize journeys, and save countless hours of manual fixes or custom solutions!

👉 If you’ve faced this issue or see the value in this feature, please vote for it and help bring this idea to life!

60 seconds seems like a very long time if I am being honest. I would expect any bot generated click traffic to take place very soon after the email has been received, within a couple of seconds at most.

Salesforce suggest 100 seconds in this article below, but this is surely going to omit a large amount of genuine tracking:

I think it'll be a case of fine tuning the criteria to achieve this. They do suggest "

There is currently no technical solution which allows our Tracking systems to know if the Opens or Clicks it records are human or system generated. "

We are wondering if it is possible to set up contact / contact list approvals for webform submissions without having a salesforce CRM integration. There doesn't seem to be any out-of-the-box functionality for this. Has anyone run into this request before / found a solution?

Ideally, this would be more automated than manual. The workflow vision would be something along these lines:

  1. The user(contact) submits a form via cloud pages
  2. if x field is selected it would need to enter an automation/journey
    1. Step one: send a notification to the approval team (sales teams - not the user.. this is where I am running into limitations in journey builder)
    2. Step two: mark contact as approved via an email form or cloud page link maybe? (if it's possible to recall a specific line of data from a data extension)
    3. Step three: contact is filtered into an approved data extension

You can do this, but it will indeed require custom development across e.g. Cloud Page code resources and Script Activities in Automation Studio. I am confident it can be done quite elegantly if built by an experienced SFMC architect.

Hi All,

When we execute SFMC Data Extension Data Extract activity, files are generating with BOM, is there any way we can convert that file to UTF-8 or any format without BOM? Is there a SFMC feature that helps us to achieve this?
