I think the best resource is the trailhead module. After doing this you can take the practice exam from salesforce ben, it is free and i passed only by doing this. I will leave the links that i mentioned bellow.

I have heard the exam for the admin certificate can be tricky. I am working on completing Prepare for your salesforce administrator credential trailmix. Will this help me pass the exam the first time? Or did you find other study materials helpful?

    @Hannah Salisbury,

Studying for the Salesforce Administrator certification exam requires a well-structured approach and a combination of resources. Here's a step-by-step guide on the best way to prepare:

    1. **Understand the Exam Guide:**

Start by thoroughly reviewing the official Salesforce Certified Administrator Exam Guide. This guide outlines the topics and areas that the exam will cover. It will help you understand what to focus on during your preparation.

    2. **Set a Study Plan:**

Create a study plan that allocates sufficient time for each topic. Break down your preparation into manageable chunks and set goals for each study session. Consistency is key.

    3. **Use Official Salesforce Resources:**

Salesforce provides official study resources, such as Trailhead modules and the Salesforce Certified Administrator Study Guide. These resources are designed to align directly with the exam content and are a great starting point.

    4. **Trailhead Modules:**

Trailhead is Salesforce's interactive learning platform. Complete the modules in the "Administrator" trailmix, which covers a range of topics relevant to the exam. Each module comes with hands-on exercises to reinforce your learning.

    5. **Practice on a Developer Org:**

Salesforce offers free Developer Edition orgs that you can use to practice hands-on exercises. Apply the concepts you learn through Trailhead and other resources in a practical environment.

    6. **Mock Exams and Practice Tests:**

Utilize mock exams and practice tests to assess your readiness and identify areas that need more attention. Several online platforms offer practice tests that simulate the actual exam environment.

    7. **Study Groups and Communities:**

Join Salesforce study groups and communities, both online and offline. Engaging with others who are also preparing for the exam can provide insights, tips, and support.

    8. **Salesforce Documentation:**

Refer to Salesforce's official documentation for in-depth information on various topics. This is especially useful for gaining a deeper understanding of concepts.

    9. **Focus on Key Areas:**

While covering all exam topics is important, pay extra attention to topics that carry more weight in the exam, based on the official exam guide.

    10. **Hands-On Experience:**

Hands-on experience is crucial. Try to apply your knowledge on a Salesforce org by performing tasks like creating objects, workflows, reports, and dashboards.

    11. **Review and Reinforce:**

Regularly review what you've learned to reinforce your understanding. Revise difficult concepts and ensure you can explain them clearly.

    12. **Time Management:**

During the exam, time management is crucial. Practice answering questions within the allocated time limit to ensure you're comfortable with the pace.

    13. **Stay Positive:**

Believe in yourself and your preparation. Maintain a positive attitude, and don't let challenges discourage you.

Remember that the Salesforce Administrator exam tests not only your knowledge but also your ability to apply that knowledge practically. Aim to not just pass the exam but to become a proficient Salesforce Administrator. Good luck!

    Hi @Jeb Politte

Even though I’m not currently preparing for the exam 'Salesforce Platform Administrator Certification', you can find good study partners in some Trailblazer Community groups.

You can check out some active groups like:

These groups are quite active, and many people there are preparing for the same exam. Join these groups and you'll find plenty of people in the same boat as you.

Hope this helps, and all the best for your preparation.

If you find this answer helpful, please consider marking it as best answer.

    Thanks and Regards,

In the short 30 question Practice Exam the questions seemed to be grouped by 7 Objectives.

However one of those stated Objectives is listed as :

Salesforce Fundamentals and there is no Configuration and Setup listed as an Objective.

Currently I am assuming that these two Objectives are interchangeable ?

It is possible that this Practice Exam needs to be updated.

Salesforce Fundamentals and Configuration and Setup do overlap in some areas, but they aren’t exactly interchangeable. Fundamentals typically cover the core concepts of Salesforce architecture, data model, and user management, while Configuration and Setup focus more on admin tools, security settings, and customization options.

If Configuration and Setup is missing as an explicit objective in the practice exam, it could be an oversight or an update that hasn't been reflected properly. I’d suggest checking the latest official exam guide to compare objectives and see if any recent changes have been made.

Question:

Which two configurations should a System Administrator perform to help users manage search results?

Answers: These are the correct answers.

A. Specify the Search Filter Fields for the Object's Search Layout

B. Reduce the number of records displayed for each object in the Search Results page.

A. I can located the Object's Search Layout, under Object Manager / Search Layout

but all I seem to be able to control is the displayed columns.

B. I can not seem to find how to limit the number of search results. Although I may be looking in the completely wrong area as far as the Search Results page is concerned. I may be confusing this with a list view.

I would like to learn how to do this. Any help is appreciated .

I've been preparing for the ADM 201 exam since August 12, dedicating 8-9 hours daily (excluding weekends). My study routine included Trailhead, Trail Mix, hands-on practice, and, for the last 20 days, I've been focusing on the Focus on Force practice exams and guide. My scores on the first attempts were 75, 73, 78, 75, and 85. Now, I'm scoring over 95%, though I think I might be memorizing the answers at this point. On Trailhead practice exams, I'm consistently scoring 85+.

Despite all of this, I'm still feeling a lot of anxiety and fear as the exam approaches. Any last-day tips or advice to calm my nerves would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone!

Been studying for the Admin exam but have found it to be quite intense. I had previously done the "Prepare for your admin credential" trail mix and thought I had a good understanding, but proceeded to took a practice exam and got a 65%. I definitely don't want to take the admin test twice if possible, so have picked up a few different courses to supplement my studies. Right now I am using the FoF study guide and practice exam. Still consistently get in the 60s on practice exams, but I'm finding it a bit intense to remember all the detailed information. Does anyone have any study tips or strategies that worked for them?

Also does anyone have experience getting a starter entry level Salesforce job while studying for the exam? Not sure how feasible it is, but I imagine the best tool to passing the exam is real-world practice.

I am studying the questions that I missed while taking the short 30 question Practice test here on Trailhead.

One of the questions that I got wrong, seems to be worded incorrectly. As well as one of the possible answers.

 Maybe it should be changed.

Question:

A user's profile can be controlled by  which three settings?

(The words " Controlled By" is what throws me off.) Profiles "Control " what a user has access to.

They are not " Controlled By " the permissions inside the profile.

Maybe assigning a license to a profile would " Control the profile " but that is not a correct answer. (C,D,E)

Answers:

A. Local Settings

B. Feature license Assignment

C.  Record Type Assignment

    (Should be Record Type Security

D. Assigned Apps

    (Should be App Settings

E. Security at the Field-Level

    (Should be Field-Level Security

I can maybe live with answers C and E. But do not like how Answer D was worded.

Although the question, to me is the real problem.
