If you are an admin, architect, or business user struggling with managing tasks when the task owner is out of the office, here is a great solution by @Manoj Nambirajan which is a point-and-click solution to reassign the tasks and get it done. @Admin Group, Philadelphia, US@Admin Group, Columbia, MD, US@Admin Group, Raleigh, US@Admin Tricks@Admin Addicts@Architect Group, Austin, TX US@Architect Group, Boston, US@Architect Group, Austin, TX US@Admin Group, Mount Laurel, US@Architect Group, Orlando, US@The Blog Group@Dreamforce for Manufacturing@* Salesforce Administrators * @Manufacturing User Group@Higher Ed User Group, Northeast, US@Higher Ed Dreamin'
I'm wondering if another great solution for folks to implement could be to confirm a business-specific policy that if a user isn't logged into Salesforce by a particular time of a workday, any tasks assigned to them due that day or the day before, are reassigned to a queue of users logged in that day (complexity of the pathway to those queues and the number of queues based on that's business's requirements of course)?
More complex to set up, but this way users don't have to be trained to reassign or flag someone as out, even though it would be a good communication strategy to inform this of the update, in case they become confused why suddenly they're assigned tasks for a record owned by someone else.
