Hi there! Happy to join this community😊

I build an incident management app and I'd like to keep a channel canvas title in sync with the incident status. I've been able to create the canvas through the API but the following updates of the canvas title don't get reflected in the canvas tab name.

The only workaround I found is to manually clear the tab name so that it get in sync with the canvas title.

I couldn't find a way to do it through the API.

Is this a known limitation of the API..? I guess it's a niche topic 😅

Thanks for your help!

    Hey Sebastien,

Not a bug in your API usage, this is a genuine gap. The canvases.edit rename operation with title_content updates the canvas's underlying title, but Slack's channel canvas tab has a separate, independently-set "tab name" property. That tab name gets set once (typically when the canvas is first added to a tab) and doesn't automatically re-sync to the canvas title afterward, which matches exactly what you're seeing: manually clearing the tab name forces it to re-sync, but API-based title renames don't propagate to it.

I couldn't find any Slack API method (canvases.edit, canvases.sections.lookup, conversations.canvases.create) that exposes or resets the tab name specifically, only the canvas title itself. So this looks like a genuine limitation, not something you're missing, there's no documented API method for touching the tab name independently.

Worth filing this as a bug/feature request via Slack's developer support, since the manual "clear the tab name" workaround you found is really a UI-only re-sync trigger that has no API equivalent yet.

I've tried many times to create a developper sanbox from this link : Developer Edition org with the product specialist agent

in the challenge : Prepare Your Agentforce and Slack Orgs.

I did not receive any Verify email as it supposed to be. I have no error, no logs. Nothing to analyse.

Only this picture :

Prepare Your Agentforce and Slack Orgs - impossible to create a Developer Edition org with the product specialist agent.

Do you have any idea of the issue please ? I am not able to complete this challenge. Thanks for your help !

Hi! We are using Salesforce Channels in Slack for Cases. One team only works in Slack, and the other team only works in Salesforce. The feed is connected for the cases and comms are flowing, but the Salesforce end user is not receiving notifications when a new message is sent in the channel (they are used to the Chatter functionality). Is there a solve for this? Thanks in advance!

@Kristan Escobar for the specific message in channel, you can click the 3 dots - more actions.. and you will see an option " Send to Salesforce ". This will help send the message as a chatter feed to the case record in salesforce. By that the salesforce end user will get correct chatter feed

Hi everyone 👋

I’m fairly new to working with Salesforce and Slack, and I have two questions about Salesforce channels in Slack, created from an Account in Salesforce:

  • Channel naming – Can I choose a custom name instead of it matching the Salesforce record name? If yes, how?
  • External participants – Can I add external users via Slack Connect? They won’t have Salesforce access, but should join the chat. If yes, how?

Thanks a lot for any tips and guidance! 🙏

For anyone that comes across this now (July 2026), there's been lots of updates here since this was initially posted.

You can now define the default name on Salesforce Channels for Records in Slack via the Slack admin panel, and you can do it by object.

I only found out about this, and other great new features about the Salesforce Channels for Records feature by joining and searching through the "Slack Community" public workspace on Slack.

We want to enable users to interact with Salesforce Cases from within Slack. Specifically, when a user replies to a Case message or thread in Slack, their reply should be automatically posted as a Chatter comment on that Case in Salesforce—without requiring the user to open Salesforce itself.

Is there a native way to achieve this with the Salesforce for Slack integration? If not, what options (like automation, custom development, or third-party tools) exist to enable this seamless two-way communication between Slack and Salesforce Cases?

    Hi @Ankita Gunagi

As per my knowledge, there is no native way this could be achieved.

Most likely you will have to do some custom automation (Flow + API to subscribe event from Slack) or try third-party apps like

    Troopr.

Hi,

I'm using the new(ish) Salesforce-Slack integration and would like to automatically archive the Slack Channels when the related Record has a status of 'Resolved'.

I've found the Archive Slack Channel flow action, but I can't find a way of extracting the appropriate Slack Channel Id that is related to the Salesforce Record.

Any help appreciated.

I'm developing an onboarding plans via API in slack canvas and I wanted to make an interactive element inside of a table but it seems that tables in cavases aren't supporting interactive elements, for example checkboxes

any plans to enable this?

Yes , Canvas content is Markdown-based So Slack Canvas tables don't support interactive elements like checkboxes, buttons, or dropdowns.

I have developed a Slack app that integrates with Salesforce. The app's Request URL currently points to my Salesforce Site endpoint, which processes Slack events using Apex.

I plan to distribute this app to multiple customers. Each customer has their own Salesforce org and therefore their own Site URL.

Since a Slack app supports only a single Request URL, how can a multi-tenant architecture be implemented?     What is the recommended approach for routing requests to the correct customer's Salesforce org after they install the app?

I can't get a Slack donated license like any other onprofit because I'm too religous. I've never gotten anyone to help me understand why. I've asked to override, no go. Several time. So I'm stuck never using Slack (out of stubborn choice).    It's your product, but if you're going to grant to nonprofits, why exclude religious nonprofits? www.StreetYouthMinistry.org

From what I've been seen so far, SlackCRM on Business+ V2 appears to require both the appropriate Slack subscription and compatible Salesforce licensing, but the publicly available documentation on the setup process and limitations seems quite limited.

For anyone planning a deployment, I would recommend verifying:

    • Required Slack and Salesforce license types
    • Admin permissions and authentication requirements
    • Supported integration features on Business+ versus Enterprise Grid
    • Sandbox and testing limitations
    • Data retention, storage, and email-related constraints

If anyone from Slack or someone who has already implemented SlackCRM in production could share the official documentation or real-world experience, it would be extremely helpful for the community.
