->09/11/2023 update: Position has been filled<-

We are looking for an experience, independent Salesforce consultant who is comfortable in a support role rather than a lead one.  Primarily this consultant would perform requested tasks--such as taking care of the steps Salesforce outlines for release readiness--and apprise us of solutions and their pros and cons for such needs as document generation for donor acknowledgement via direct mail. If this consultant can help isolate design/code issues, all the better.  All that said, we are a small non-profit and have a limited budget: $25 - $50 hourly for 1 - 3 hours weekly.  Following is the job description.

We are a nonprofit who had a false start on migrating to Salesforce in 2016, and this year we restarted with a new database manager and plan to complete the migration.  We are looking for an independent Salesforce consultant with NPSP expertise and experience with Salesforce apps which connect to NPSP to implement limited Salesforce administration tasks and advise us regarding Salesforce on the following tasks in order of priority:

  •  Implement release updates in sandbox.
  •  Identify a native or managed solution to automate creation of Word letters to be sent via postal mail in response to donations.
  •  Review our planned approach to manage programs which involve events, participants, participant fees and payments, participant room and meal info, facilitators, expenses, and revenue.
  • Provide feedback on our planned approach to create split-fund, recurring, and one-time donations.
  • Advise regarding integrating with QuickBooks, including optional approaches, challenges, and advantages.
  • Overwrite or provide detailed instructions on how to overwrite the production environment with a sandbox.
  • Advise on how API calls are used against the limit as relates to third-party apps and integrations.
  • Offer insights toward conditional field values and characteristics on page layouts.
  • Offer insights toward our data model and review it once we complete it after the aforementioned solutions have been determined.

You will be working remotely with our database manager and will have brief, virtual, weekly meetings held during Pacific Time business hours. Our database manager has 25 years of IT, project management, and database administration experience covering systems built around databases for document management, content management, and a variety of domains. Their master’s degree is for library and information science with a focus on database design, metadata, and information governance. They have been studying Salesforce and NPSP but were new to Salesforce prior to November 2022.

Greetings - I'm new to Trailblazer community after years of working with Blackbaud products. My new employer had a great consultant who supported us in some of our more technical SF projects, but he has since moved on and we are struggling to find a replacement. Is there a resource that could direct me to consultants who support and help organizations optimize their use of Salesforce? We need somebody with both technical expertise as well as experience using Salesforce as a fundraising tool. Any ideas or leads you could provide would be awesome. Thank you!

I was first introduced to Salesforce from a friend a couple of months ago.  I have taken trailhead by storm.  I'd like some advice on how I can utilize my knowledge to consult with businesses already using Salesforce as their administrator.

My main goal is to be able to work remotely with business's and own my own business.  Is this possible?  If there is anyone that has done can I please have some pointers?  Thank you for taking the time to read this.
