This lil idea/group keeps on chugging! I'm going to spend a bit of time in our Google Doc today reorganizing things so that it's easier for new people to engage and contribute.
I'm also ... making a super long Data Intake form for a client right now and I am already dreading creating all of those custom fields in SFDC. Will they be used in reporting? Will they ever be used again? WHO KNOWSSSSSS @___@
Hi pals! We tend to use the same applications year after year, so it's not very often that I need to create a new one, but we do have one funding program that has a new, public application (aka not invite-only) every summer. This year, I cloned the application in Community Manager and then I updated the quiz questions to represent the new year of funding. While testing, I looked at a record that was created using the previous application (via the Portal), and I noticed that the questions had also been updated there to reflect the annual updates. This is not the behavior I would expect, because last year's questions SHOULD say 2019 and this year's questions SHOULD say 2020 and they should not be the same. Now, I have a situation where this year's and last year's questions were both updated to the same value. If this is the case, there's no benefit to cloning the application (since I am not adding or removing questions). If I'm understanding this correctly, the Clone Application button creates a new Quiz record and new Quiz Question records, but does not create a new set of Question records. I think there are pros and cons to this (since foundations MAY want to have one question update all Quizzes) but for us, in this use case, it's a detriment. I wanted to document it here and see if we could generate any useful discussion about cloning applications. @foundationConnect @Data Intake Governance
