Hello HomeKeeper Group! Does anyone know if there is any way I could make a text field searchable? We would like to search for Cases through Global Search using a field in the same Case. Does anyone have any experience with this or know if it can be done?

Hi HomeKeeper community! I am an AmeriCorps vista at a housing non-profit in Minnesota called NeighborWorks Home Partners. I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on essential modules or materials to include in the trail mix I'm creating for the company.

All the best, Max.

Hi Max! We've actually put one of those together for you - you can find that here. Hopefully that's at least a good starting point. We have a large number of resources, so if you are wondering if we have something always ask - it might just be a matter of knowing where to look!

Total noob here, sorry.  This may not even be an answerable question?

A supervisor just informed me that we are switching to 'HUD Connect', and asked me to see if there is any basic/introductory training regarding 'HUD Connect'.   A search for 'HUD Connect' returns nothing.   Thoughts?

Hi just closing the loop by noting that we emailed links to all the HUD Connect documentation and videos to you (Tone) and Barbara in Jan 2022. Feel free to email the HomeKeeper support email for more questions or if you would like those links again. Thanks!

I'm using the Magic Mover app to convert attachments to files. The process has been successful for all objects except one. I've tried selecting a few and even just one of the files but nothing seems to work. Any reason why this would work for all objects except one? Are there other ways to convert attachments to files?

For context the object is part of the Homekeeper App.

Hi, Union Rescue Mission is a homeless shelter in Los Angeles. Aside from providing emergency services (shelter, meals, etc), we also provide a year long recovery program. We are currently exploring platform options to track/measure impacts, from how many meals we provided, how many beds, etc to success.

I'm wondering if Homekeeper could be one of those options that we should explore?

Thanks!

Pinging @Tiffany Eng as she is actually with HomeKeeper and she might want to chime in!

@Brad Struss is correct in that HomeKeeper is primarily oriented around home ownership. That being said, the data model it uses could be a good starting point (we use it to track far more than just our home ownership program). If you need the ability to report to HUD, their housing counseling feature-set does make that possible. If you do not need the ability to report, it might not make sense for your use case.

HomeKeeper is pleased to announce our newest team members: @Haley Wotzka and @Lindsey Griggs. We were lucky enough to find two amazing people who were already familiar with Salesforce and affordable housing programs. Fun fact, they've both worked at @Habitat for Humanity Affiliates! Hope you and your community are safe and stable. HomeKeeper has been hearing that many programs are finding quick wins using online forms, which can be configured to reduce (or eliminate) data entry in your Salesforce for use with the HomeKeeper app. We collected success stories and getting started tips at: https://myhomekeeper.org/work-from-anywhere-online-forms/

Anyone worked on a complicated government-required report that has to come directly out of Salesforce before?

I've got a potential client that is asking about making a HUD report. The requirements document from HUD is 86 pages long--not counting the separate data dictionary that goes with it--describing a final CSV that has to have more than 30 different tabs. And there is a baseline requirement from HUD that it be generated directly out of Salesforce--you can't export 30 reports and combine them as tabs into a final product. I expect this is theoretically possible with @Apsona for Salesforce Multi-step Reports or Conga, though obviously a super-complicated build. I'm pretty sure this would be more than I could take on. But I'd love to connect with anyone that's done this kind of thing before for some context. (Possibly a subcontract or referral.)

In the Boston Continuum of Care (CoC), our HUD CAPER reports were produced by a local vendor who processed data from Social Solutions' ETO product, the software used by a few dozen agencies in Boston. The continuum is scheduled to migrate all data to the BitFocus Clarity product sometime this year. Both systems specialize in HMIS implementations, though ETO has penetrated more sectors beyond homeless management.

Since the Boston department running the HMIS continuum of care and in charge of software decision runs Salesforce (SF) for much of their city business, I would think that if SF had decent HMIS reporting capability, it would have been on the table as an ETO replacement. It does seem like a product that specializes in HMIS implementations works best here. If it would help to get more info on this, feel free to DM me and I can make an inquiry.
