Getting started with Salesforce Data Cloud (now Data 360)? Here’s the path I recommend.

I keep getting asked how to break into Data Cloud. Here’s what I’d do if I were starting today:

  1. Learn the basics on Trailhead: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/search?keywords=data%20cloud
  2. Get hands-on with a free Developer Edition org. It now includes Data Cloud: https://developer.salesforce.com/signup
  3. Attend a Data Cloud workshop to build an end to end project: https://developer.salesforce.com/workshops/data-cloud-workshop
  4. Get certified as a Data Cloud Consultant: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/credentials/datacloudconsultant

Data Cloud is still one of the most underinvested skills in the Salesforce ecosystem, and it’s the data foundation Agentforce runs on. Now is a good time to get in.

Great insights, @Vishal Soni Thank you for sharing this helpful roadmap.

I completely agree with your approach. I would just like to add a few points from a practical learning perspective:

    • Get hands-on experience with Data Streams, DLOs, and DMOs.
    • Practice Data Mapping and Identity Resolution.
    • Explore Calculated Insights and Data Graphs.
    • Understand how Data 360 supports Agentforce use cases.

I believe building at least one end-to-end project alongside certification preparation can really strengthen practical understanding.

Thanks again for sharing these valuable resources with the community!
