Are there any features with Tableau desktop for predictive analytics such as building regression models, classification models. I am teaching a business analytics course using tableau desktop and prep builder, and wanted to see what I could explore.

Tableau Desktop does have some predictive features built in, so you can definitely use it for a business analytics course. MODEL_QUANTILE and MODEL_PERCENTILE are worth playing with for predictions, and forecasting is useful too. For actual classification or more advanced regression though, I’d connect Tableau to Python or R rather than try to build everything inside Tableau.
