New to Tableau where we are looking to develop a consolidated and integrated approach to the communication of student learning and achievement with mindfulness of the centrality of teachers, parents and students. The idea is to develop simple, effective systems for tracking student learning and achievement that provide diagnostic feedback to all students, teachers and parents in order to improve performance.

We have been using MicroStrategy and R with some success this year. Tableau now having enabled R integration looks attractive.

We have a skinny budget and so I'd appreciate any pointers that you can provide on launching into data in schools and any publicly available exemplars in K-12.

    Hi Gary,

I'm late to the question by a lot, but thought you still might appreciate this short (16 mins) webinar on sharing data with teachers, principals, and administrators. Probably would have been helpful earlier in the year for the diagnostic side of things, but perhaps still of use to you.

Did you wind up using Tableau's R integration after all or did you stick with MicroStrategy? How's it working so far?

    Best,

    Mariel
