Actions for Existing Customers to Maintain Parity
Important: Update the role-based permission sets to match what’s documented in Admissions Connect Permission Set Details. Here’s a summary of some of the changes we made to the permission sets. Without these updates, the Admissions Connect components won’t work as expected in the app or in a portal.
- Access to the Let Applicants Upload Files field (on the Application Material Mapping object) was added to all role-based permission sets.
- The Access Activities system permission was added to the applicant and external reviewer permission sets.
- Additional Apex class access was added to the applicant permission set.
- Additional access was added to the applicant permission set for these objects: Application, Contact, Education History, Relationship, and Test.
Use the Admissions Connect Data Dictionary as reference to update the help text for these fields: Show Navigation to Applicants, Show Content to Applicants, Applicant Instruction Message, and Applicant Hidden Content Message.
If you set up an applicant portal in a previous release, complete these steps.
- Consider updating your applicant sharing set with Edit access on the Application and Contact objects. For reference, see Extend Record Access for Portal Users.
- To allow applicants to submit their application in the portal, ensure the Started picklist value is added to the Status field on the Application object. This picklist value was added in EDA’s 1.117 release and is required for application submission to work.
- Update your existing Application Material Mapping records to use the new Let Applicants Upload Files field. For details, see Create Application Material Mapping Records.
- Update the Application Material Mapping Layout - Admissions Director page layout with the Let Applicants Upload Files field. For details about how we format our default layout, see Application Material Mapping Page Layout.
- If your applicant portal includes ad hoc items, see Review Portal Considerations for Ad Hoc Items for information on how these items now show in the applicant portal.
