I got a couple of things I would love people's input on.
First, I'm looking at changing the look and feel of my site. When I first started it I chose white text on black background because I felt it was easier to read (I blame all my e-reading back then) and because I just hate all the white space. Now it just kind of "blah." What do people do and why? Everywhere else seems to do Black text on White or Dark Gray on some sort of color.
Second, I just figured out where my email subscribers live (Only took me 3 years). I'm considering actually doing something with these besides emailing them posts. Is anyone else doing this? What are you using and why? My knee jerk is to go with MailChimp because... well that seems to be where everyone else is going. But I don't want to jump off the bridge if there's better alternatives.
Thoughts?
Hi @Brian Kwong, I echo everything that Atul has mentioned. Mailchimp is king when you have a relatively small email list. In terms of updating your site, I would strongly recommend paying $40 or so for a premium wordpress template. They are miles better than the free ones and give your site a much more professional look.
