Hi, I'm new to Salesforce and wondering if anyone uses it to store contracts in a relational database format? Any suggestions?

@Lynn Hofmeister You might not be aware of record types because of the type of org that you have. Record Types are not available with all of the orgs. I think org types have been renamed, but they used to be called, professional, enterprise and unlimited. So, find which type you're on and whether or not it has access to record types.
This is my first post in the community! I am brand new to Salesforce so I have a lot of basic questions and find the Help section doesn't really help me. Right now, I'm trying to figure out Knowledge in Lightning. Once I figure out how to set it all up, what are my options on displaying articles to the public (not using a community)?
It feels so basic but I don't know how to view my published articles live outside of Salesforce. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I have a workflow in place that automatically sends a follow up email to the contact, of an opportunity, 24 hours after the stage changes. My question is, can the contact opt out of the email that is automatically sent out.

Hi.
We are currently trying to combine most of IT solutions to one combined software solution. We use salesforce for our sales team and are working on the service cloud for our support team. The next step will be a RMA system. Today we have a formula on the webpage, filled out by the clients that then creates a RMA case in a CRM system. We would like to do this through the service cloud, or at least a compatible application.
I have not been able to find anything that fits our needs, so now i am looking towards the community for help.

We are developing a new webpage and as soon as i know exactly how everything will work, i will ask our web developer to fill in all the information here in this case, so you know exactly what it is we need.
I needed to make sure that it was possible to use salesforce, or any plug-in's to salesforce, to do it, before i asked our developer to move forward with it.

Competitor Analysis is a must before jumping in to creation of the Product. You should be very clear with the Offering of Competitor and Price Points. Once you know your strengths jump in to Product Development and wrap the same as soon as possible before the landscape changes and you lose your advantage.

Does anyone have a recommended app to allow a quote or estimate to be signed on an iPad? I also want sketches made on an iPad to be added to an estimate or quote in the system. I am trying to make this is quick for the estimator as possible and prefer to avoid having to save a sketch made in another application and then use the notes / attachments area in Salesforce.

@David Reed We have built the same for one of our clients where the document is generated in IPAD and the customers sign on the same. It's all native so there is no recurring cost for the solution. If you want then we can show you the same and If you are interested then can have it implemented for you.

Hi there! GDPR question: How are you differentiating between GDPR opt-in/opt-outs and universal unsubscribes in your Salesforce org (if at all)? More specifically - are you only using one field (ex: "Global Opt-In," [true/false]), or two fields (ex: "GDPR Opt-In" [true/false] and "Universal Unsubscribe" [true/false]) to capture these preferences?
Context: I'm working with a company who does business globally, and has opted to add a GDPR consent field to all forms (a required field which will be displayed regardless of the prospect's country). We will also capture the opt-in/opt-out date in Pardot and SFDC.
Curious to hear approaches from others. Please let me know if I can provide any more info!

@Vanessa Ruiz I believe it's more about not sending emails to people who have not subscribed. So it should be a Global Picklist to maintain the status and everyone should be given a chance to output/Unsubscribe

I am trying to track customers usage spend and currently we track this through a manually updated spreadsheets. However, I would love to know if there is a way to automate this through SalesForce. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Hector Sanchez I believe the best will be to create a custom object and link the same with Customer. This way you can track multiple spend and can create a report also for the same. Do tell me if you need more help on the same.
