Hello,

I am giving this another try. I have created a Quick Action that references a Flow which creates a record. I have added it to the page layout but not all my users can see it. Why? Please help!

Thank you

Hindy

Today the Global Action setting we have for Snapins Chat PreChat quick action managed to reset itself from Case Origin = Chat to Case Origin = Web.  It has done this in the past and we don't know why.  It happened at almost the same time as the Service Degradation issue for our org was resolved.  Has anyone else had this happen?  Do you think the timing was coincidental or could this have been caused by the service degradation problem?

Is it true that we can't use a New Note Quick Action?

I know this sounds simple, but hear me out. I can create a Quick Action that creates a New Record of object Note. However, I can't get this to show up in the Mobile & Lightning Actions section of a Page Layout. My suspicion is that the only New Note action that works is the standard one that ships with Salesforce. Even though I can build the custom New Note Quick Action, I can't actually use it. Does anyone have some insight into this potential bug?

Great discussion here, I've upvoted the relevant idea of Ryan's.

Here are two potentially relevant feature request ideas relating to Salesforce Enhanced Notes and templates / pre-population:

Overall, I feel Salesforce Notes just need a little bit of love and they will actually be quite useful and up to par with note creation in other CRM systems.

Hello,

I have created a Quick Action that triggers a Flow. I have added it to the layout and some of my users do not see that particular Quick Action. Is there a setting or permission I am missing? Why would certain users not see it and other can if they are viewing the same layout?

Thanks,

Hindy

Yes. There are two record types related to the object. The Flow references one of them. The user/profile has access to both record types. The Quick Action is on a different related object.

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a Quick Action with an LWC in Experience Cloud?

Yeah, unfortunately, if you don't mind, can you look for / create an idea for this and post back here for us to up vote?

Does anyone have advice or things to watch out for when using the Actions & Recommendations component on a custom objects lightning page? It seems like a useful tool after reading the help documentation, but I'm wondering how successful other people find it to be. I'm not finding a lot of information out there in blogs or videos to help support the idea of using it.

I'm interested in just the actions and flow piece right now, not the recommendations. Any ideas, thoughts, or resources you can share are much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Blog Post - Step-By-Step Guide On ‘Actions’ in Lightning Experience

'Action' is one of the most important components in the Salesforce UI. Using actions, you can create, update, delete or clone records, create a child record, call a flow/visualforce page/lighting component, post to chatter or even work with multiple records at a time. There are standard actions in Salesforce which are pre-defined by Salesforce and then there are custom actions that you can define yourself.

To be honest, understanding 'Actions' was always a bit confusing for me. How to configure, where to configure, what are the different types, where do they appear in UI, why are they not appearing etc. Though I could make things work by trial and error, I had to repeat the whole process again on another project. So out of frustration (and a little bit of shame), I thought about finding out all about Actions that I need to know, organize my thoughts and document it as a blog post for my reference. And I do hope that this will be useful to you as well.

Related record component on mobile app

I have a related record component on a lightning record page that uses a quick action that updates a related record. It's working fine on the desktop, but on the mobile app I can see the fields but I cannot update the fields. There are no edit or save buttons, and only have the view, remove and cancel options in the drop down menu next to the component label.

Has anyone any ideas?

🧐 Did you know? Object-specific actions let users create records with automatic relationships to other records, make updates to specific records, and interact with records in ways that you define.

Here's how 👇

Create Object-Specific Quick Actions
