Hi everyone,
We're currently facing a deliverability issue where our SAP sending domain reputation has been impacted, and emails are consistently landing in the Spam/Junk folder for Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo recipients.
I have a question for anyone who has dealt with a similar situation:
If we purchase a new private domain and a new dedicated IP but continue using the same SAP (Sender Authentication Package) domain within the same Business Unit, is there a good chance emails will start landing in the inbox again? Or will the poor SAP domain reputation continue to affect deliverability?
Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

That would be a very drastic way to recover from poor deliverability. It might look like a quick fix to start over with a brand new IP, but that will also require IP warmup - and underneath you will still be sending from the SAP domain.
I am yet to see IPs so badly damaged that it is unrecoverable. However, the longer a period you have been having issues, the more it takes to recover. My key recommendation to you will be:
- Cut Out the Junk – If you are getting leads from 3rd parties, then immediately excluded the problematic lead source from sends.
- Housekeeping on Steroids – Any hard-bouncing address needs gone, no matter which ISP it came from.
- Prioritized Engagement – Temporary limit sends to the most engaged recipients only, you should see insane open rates nearing 90% on some campaigns.
- Redefined Contact Deletion – Cleaned up your entire contact management process
- Monitor in Near Real-Time – Set up DEWS (here is a recording of it demonstrated) and SenderRating dashboard.
No need to go with the new IP and Private Domain. Fix the root cause instead.
