I'm working on the following module, https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/projects/quick-start-create-a-data-cloud-segment?trail_id=unlock-your-data-with-data-cloud

And I'm not seeing the Unified Individual option when attempting to create a new segment. Below is an attach screen shot

Hi,

In Sales, when using Campaigns we have Campaign Members. When a Contact or Account is added as a Campaign Member, it appears on the Campaign history related list of this Contact or Account.

I would like to know if there is such related list automatically created, like "Segment history" when a Contact or Account is selected in a Data Cloud Segment ?

In other words, can I see all #Data Cloud segments that a Contact or Account is included (active or inactive) when I'm looking at a Contact or Account record (including a Person Account) ?

In Data Cloud, when you create any segment (say High-value Customers), there will be two DMOs created :-

    1) High-value Customers - History (storing the historic values of the population covered by the segment)

    2) High-value Customers - Latest (Carrying the latest set of population).

You can check these in the DMOs tab.

For lead grading, how can I differentiate "CEO" and "Chief Executive Officer" for an A grade and then "CFO" and "Chief Financial Officer" for a B grade

     Hi,  Great Question

    • For this I would like to recommend you to create custom lead grading model in pardot using automation rules on the basis of "Job Function", "Region", "Revenue".

    • This will help you a lot and you can give them grades as per your custom requirements.

     Cheers!

I am new to marketing cloud, one of our clients would like to have reports that shows the click/through open rate of emails sent out for campaigns via if possible a csv file.

Is there a possibility of doing this per data extension/ segment / email sent on each journey builder?

I have a question related to data within the marketing cloud, when doing our segmentation it seems that SFMC  data related to contacts that have not had interaction for more than 2 years is disregarded in the marketing cloud. From your experience have you encountered this before? If so how was this resolved?

Segmenting data in a Marketing Automation context is essential. Enabling marketers to do so without involving the IT department or having to acquire extensive database knowledge themselves is key to successful marketing execution.

In this article I describe ways to segment data in Marketing Cloud - data filters, data relationships, measures, SQL, DESelect (3rd Party Plugin)

Our organization recently switched to Campaign Monitor and we are trying to determine which of our groups become lists vs. segments.  We have a bunch of newsletters we send out (general, program-related, donor, etc.) as well and random communication that happens depending on the time of year.  Any tips and thoughts on how to move forward?  Would appreciate all insight and experiences!

As an advocacy org, we use campaign monitor for all communications (fundraising, action alerts, advocacy efforts, event invites and so forth). The struggle is real with lists and segments! We pretty much do the same as what @Alyssa Byrne described. What is great about segmenting in CM is that you can do it based off of behavior (if someone opened an email or not) or do it based off of fields in Salesforce.

As the salesforce admin, I've found it very important to have lots of talks with your communications/marketing team (or whoever will be sending and creating the emails) around their purpose and strategy with email marketing. CM can do a lot of what a communications/marketing team wants, so having a strategy and goals is super helpful know before setting up a structure and process.
