You can use BOFC Tool to mass delete email template in salesforce (Both Lightning and classic).

Interesting request from a user to have a new tab listing Email templates.
What would the rules that may apply to email templates to say that they are bad?
Not used in flows or in workflows?
What else?
Please see the related item in the backlog:
https://github.com/SalesforceLabs/OrgCheck/issues/447#AppExchange #Org Health Check #Email Template #Lightning Email Template #Classic Email Template #HTML Email TemplateTabs:
I would say two different tabs as Classic should phase out at some point and the setup for them are backend vs front end.
-There is also the Lighting Builder for Lighting Templates that crosses with Account Engagement.
The rules we started with to say "is it used?"
1. Is the object it referenced used (last created and modified date of the last records)
2. Is it referenced in any automation, if yes, do we ever hit the criteria of it anymore?
If no, we look at the sent tracker but I know this isnt 100% accurate.
3. We review for Branding guidelines. Is the logo in the template current or old?
4. When was it created, by who, are they still here?
5. Who has access to the template.
Once I have a list of ones that meet the criteria, I start sending it out. We deactivate, wait a period of time for someone to ask where it is, then delete when we are confident it isnt used.
Permissions:
I think the tool should see all templates by default as some users create personal email templates that do not meet brand standards. The folder/is it private should be a column so that as an admin I can ID them to be deleted and the user coached if needed. If they are useful, then we can migrate them to something all users can use.
Hi Community,
I have a survey that is sent using process builder when a case is closed. It uses a lightning email template related to the survey questions object to embed the survey link. It is cloned from the standard email template Embed_a_Survey_Link.
I am looking for a way to add case merge fields such as subject to the email template.
I tried adding {{{Case.Subject}}} but the template just stopped working and emails aren't sent.
Any help on how to accomplish this will be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello,
Can you go into Object Manager and press on any Object.
Copying the URL Format adjust the Object to SurveyQuesiton and see if this URL gets you in.
eg. If the URL was /object/account try object/Surveyquestion
I've successfully used this hsck before on a other object but off hand without my pc can't remember the URL

I have a Lightning email template with several links to documents in Dropbox. I highlight the text, insert the hyper link (copied and pasted from DB's "Copy Dropbox link"). I do this for all my links. Some work just fine. Others, the address that populates in a new tab is the correct address except the ":" after http is missing (http://). My initial links I paste in have the ":" present.
Any ideas on why the ":" would be disappearing and what I can do to fix them?
Thanks! #Service Cloud
Hi @Sadie Shaver,
Here are the steps to ensure links are displayed correctly in an HTML email Template:
1. Edit the HTML email template: Setup | Communication Templates | Email Templates, Click the Name of the Template then click "Edit HTML Version".
2. Enter the text that you would like to be hyperlinked. i.e. Terms of Service
3. Highlight the text of the link and click the "Insert a link" icon (picture of a chain).
4. Paste the ("http://www.companyname.com/aboutus/policy.aspx#.Terms") on the URL window then click OK.
5. Save the Template.
Please note: Your template must be of HTML type and not text.
If this helps, please vote as best answer.
Thanks
I'm looking to update an email template I have for our sales reps and their leads. There are multiple territories and matching lead queues.
I'd like to update the email template with a link to the recipient's Lead Queue list. I have one template used for all territories. I was hoping to not have to make a template for each territory so the link to the list is relevant to the territory but I'm thinking that's the way.
Any ideas if I can create a list titled 'My Territory Queue' and use that url instead of an email template for each territory? #Trailhead Challenges

Hi Everyone,
I think I'm just missing a step somewhere and my brain is wrecked. We have a flow that sends out an email to a client in flow via an email alert using a lighting email template. When testing the emails are not being logged into the object history, however are linked to the object in the template. Do I have to create another flow component to get these to track or how do I go about getting them to log on their own? Thank you for any help. #Flow Builder #Lightning Email Template
To do this, have the Workflow trigger a task (in addition to the email alert that is sent). Assign the task to one of the following: the record owner, creator, a certain role, or a specific user. Optionally, set the task to "Completed" so it will just be used for tracking purposes. Once the Workflow is triggered, the email will be sent and a completed activity will be logged on that particular record simultaneously. This is the possible resolution. Hope it will resolve your issue.
Thanks
I have created a lightning email template in my org, but I am not able to choose this template in email alerts.
When I search for email templates in email alert, it is showing classic email templates folders only.
How can I select my lightning email template in email alert?
Same here. Maybe it was removed when it shouldn't have been by Salesforce
I'm setting up automatic birthday mailing via the Workflow Rule. I have completed all the setup steps except selecting the Email Template. If I use Lightning Email Template for my Email Alert action, the email will not be sent, even though the time-based workflow shows a record of the time it was created and the time it was scheduled. On the other hand, when I use Classic Email Template, the workflow rule sends out emails normally.
I've tried it over and over again, and It's still the same results. Could anyone please help me on how to resolve this issue? Many thanks!
We're having issues using the Recipient Merge field when sending emails from a Case within the UI.
On some Cases we don't use the standard Contact Lookup, but a Custom Contact Lookup. We've created a Custom Email action ( hence the label on the action ) which uses that custom Lookup and the JunctionIds functionality to populate the Contact within the To: section on the email action.
However, this still causes the email (based on a Lightning Email template) to fail:
Based on my understanding of the functionality, this should work. However, it seems that it doesn't?
A colleague mentioned that populating the standard Contact lookup field allows this to work, which seems to imply that the ContactId field on the Case is more important than the actual Contact referenced in the Email action. We cannot use the standard Contact lookup field here, as there are sharing sets and settings in place which we have to keep in place, but cannot be invoked for this subset of Cases.
Can anybody shed any light on this? Is this one of those weird "Standard Objects And Their Specific Behaviours" type issues?

We have since found that this is a limitation within Salesforce. Albeit one that isn't referenced in the documentation.
The recipient merge fields on Lightning Email Templates related to Cases only works with the standard Contact Lookup. This has been confirmed by Salesforce support and there is an existing Idea on the Idea exchange for it:
Lightning Email Templates - Recipient Merge fields to relate to the recipient
Another one of those strange undocumented Salesforce limitations.
