Hi Design Trailblazers!🌟

I’m Justin Maguire, and I am Salesforce’s first Chief Design Officer. I lead our product teams and connect the dots between the different design groups inside of Salesforce. But deep down, I’m really a maker who’s passionate about creative problem solving and creating experiences that elevate the human condition.

We’ve been doing a lot of research recently, and are learning that—even if not all of you would call yourselves “Designers”—there’s tons of design work happening all across the Salesforce ecosystem. What you do to help your organizations get the most out of Salesforce and improving people’s experience on the platform has enormous impact. Honestly, it’s what allows this ecosystem to thrive.

There’s a lot going on in the world these days. Technology and business are reacting to a combination of powerful forces that require us to think and work differently. We are more connected, generating more data, receiving more feedback, and working with more powerful tools than ever before. Employees and consumers are (rightfully) demanding more social accountability, and “business as usual” is no longer viable. Design practices can help us navigate through all this change, and we’re eager to share our tips and tools to design the future of work, technology, and the world.

As you know, Salesforce is all about relationships. The relationships we have with our customers, our fellow employees, and our wider communities. We believe that relationships are key to strong and successful businesses. And design can help us build them.

That’s why we’re introducing the next evolution of design, that keeps relationships at the heart of technology and business. We call this practice, Relationship Design. And in the coming months (and years!) we’ll be sharing everything we know about designing for great relationships.

We’ll also be launching a Relationship Design module on Trailhead next month, and building out a full curriculum and certification to help everyone in our ecosystem design relationship-centered experiences on the Salesforce platform. Stay tuned for more updates on that.

I am so excited to connect with you all, and to learn from all of you as we continue down this path.

The newest community group in the Salesforce ecosystem. On behalf of Salesforce Design, we are excited to bring the topic of design and all the ways it is practiced to you, our amazing Trailblazer community. Inspiring and innovative design is already been happening everywhere. Let's share our stores with each other, inspire, learn, and skill up on all things design. Whether you consider yourself a Designer or somebody that dabbles in design this group is for you. All are welcome!

The values of this community are the same values you all already bring to other communities. Learn, connect, have fun, and give back together. 

In creating this community we have a few foundational goals...

- Bring the topic of design and it's related disciplines, User Experience Design, Design Strategy, and Creative Design to our Trailblazer Community.

- Raise awareness around design's business and social value.

- Embrace and support the growing demand for in design skills from Admins, Developers, Architects, and Consultants.

- Share articles, best practices, webinars, podcasts, tools, and guidelines created by our own subject matter expert Salesforce Designers. The same content we use to guide and inspire our internal teams.

- Connect our Trailblazer community with our emerging Design Education curriculum and enablement offerings.

- Fun polls and surveys to better understand how design is showing up in your day to day.

- Facilitate connecting you all with each other as well as special subject matter guests from across design at Salesforce.

While these goals are our initial hope and dreams for this community, we are also eager to hear from you. Help us shape what this group should become.
