We would like to create a new Salesforce user for C&P integration (Legacy Donor Mgmt and Event Mgmt), and would like to use the new Salesforce Integration user license in order to free up one of our limited number of Salesforce user licenses.

https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_api_integration_license.htm&release=242&type=5

Can you provide guidance on this transition? I know that the user with this license and the 'Minimum Access - API Only Integrations' profile has restricted object access by default, so would like to know exactly what profile permissions to add to this integration user in order for the C&P integration to function properly.  Do you have a document describing the required permissions? Thanks

@Jon McDermott  I have asked the team to send you the minimum permissions you need but please let me know which of the Click & Pay Suite apps is your client using?

    • Vault
      • Virtual Terminal
      • Custom Questions?  are they being mapped.
    • Store
    • Event
      • Ticketing?
      • Attendee mapping
    • Dispatch
      • Autoresponder
      • Mass Email
      • SMS
    • Settings
      • Custom Mapping
        • Opportunity?
        • Campaigns?
        • Contact
        • Account
        • Custom objects

The team will send you our internal support document - but let us know which apps are being used and if any mapping is done.

Our support team is emailing you shortly asking for a few details and then we will narrow down our document and send you the fields.

AI assistants are learning to process donations. Is your organization discoverable?

When a donor asks ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini "I want to donate to [cause] in [city]," what happens next?

Right now, nothing. AI agents have no standardized way to find your organization, verify it's legitimate, or help a donor complete a gift. That's about to change.

Click & Pledge has built a protocol that makes your organization discoverable and transactable through any AI assistant — no app installs, no new platforms, no changes to your existing payment processing. The AGIve™ Protocol is patent pending and has been tested live across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

We're selecting up to 5 organizations for our early adopter program.

What's involved:

  • Two small, non-invasive additions — a standard text file added alongside your existing robots.txt and sitemap.xml, and one DNS record. Nothing is modified on your existing site and normal operations are unaffected.
  • A 6-month pilot period with direct support from our team

What you get:

  • $500 grant to your general fund upon successful completion of the 6-month pilot
  • Your organization becomes one of the first nonprofits AI agents can natively discover and facilitate donations to
  • Named recognition as a founding AGIve Protocol adopter

We're not looking for the most organizations — we're looking for the right ones. If you have a dedicated point of contact and some control over your website and DNS, you may be a fit.

Take the 2-minute screening survey: https://survey.clickandpledge.com/zs/9KC5bT

We'll review responses and reach out to selected organizations directly.

When setting up a C&P integration with NPC, are the following possible via the integration

(no additional customization needed)?

  1. Create a "Gift Commitment" record when a new Recurring Donation is established in C&P?
  2. Create a "Gift Transaction" record for all "Closed Won" Opportunities created by C&P?
  3. Create a "Gift Soft Credit" record (when applicable) for all "Closed Won" Opportunities created by C&P?
  4. Create a "Gift Tribute" record in the case of a "tribute" gift created by C&P?
  5. Create a "Gift Soft Credit" record for an employee when a matching gift payment is received from an employer.

I saw that this question was asked last year and there wasn't really an answer. These days I am seeing new Salesforce implementations opting for Nonprofit Cloud over NPSP and the two solutions have very different data models. Has C&P updated the Salesforce integration to align with the NPC data model?

    Yes we do now.

We just finished our implementation of the NPC and now our team is completing the various functionality of NPC, e.g. recurring, etc. that our platform is integrated with.

Needless today, for historical accuracy, we were integrated with Person account in our release 1.0 - and Salesforce became adamant that Person Account is on its way out.. so we remove it so we don't have to have a bloated application.  Now we are in release 26 and we are back on it.

Short answer .. yes.. release 26 is scheduled for March 24 release.  If you wish to test it as beta please let me know.

I have a few questions about the new Mapping Parameters feature. I wasn’t able to join the webinar live, but I did watch the recording and I’m still a little confused about a few details.

We’ve only had one gift that has run after the update so far, so maybe with more gifts the ordering would be more clear, but in any case:

1. Right now in custom mapping, I can get the answer to an open-text question using the exact question name and map the answer to a field on the Contact, Account, or Opportunity. That’s very helpful because it’s easy to make sure that the questions follow the exact same phrasing on all forms. For the new mapping parameters feature, it seems that it determines the key based on the order of the question in the form. So, the first question is {Answer.Order.0}, the second is presumably {Answer.Order.1} etc. How does that work when you have multiple different forms with different orders to questions? If on form 1, the first question is “Organization Name” and on form 2, the first question is “Do you want to receive emails?”, if I map {Answer.Order.0} to a field on the opportunity, what will the result be when a donation to each of the forms is processed? Will the same field fill with the answer to a different question?

2. The main reason we were hoping for more customizability with mapping custom questions is for our C&P Autoresponder emails. Particularly, we wanted to get the open text answer to the question “Organization Name” and display it in the email. In the autoresponder designer, we can’t get fields from the resulting Opportunity (since the receipts are based on the C&P Transaction and there could be multiple opportunities for a transaction). I can get data from the Contact and Account, but in this case someone can give personally and also from their organization, so it really depends on the individual transaction  whether I want to show the Organization Name value or not (and they could give from multiple organizations). So, I can't rely on mapping the field to Contact/Account. In the webinar, it sounded like this new mapping parameter feature would allow us to access some more of that C&P Data information in Autoresponder. Is there more guidance on how to do that? I’m not seeing a way to do it currently (besides the list of all questions which was already there and not what we needed). And I can’t seem to map the questions to custom fields on the C&P Transaction record from Custom Mapping either (which would then allow me to use them in the autoresponder).

Thanks for your help!

    @Robert Vap

Thanks for the update. After I sent my first response, I noticed that the campaign SKU suffix comes through, so that should work for us. And that's a good point that fields can be moved around separately from the campaign details order, I forgot about that.

    Here are my additional questions:

I did some more testing and I still can't get the field values to show up in the autoresponder template. I put the merge field in, but when I do a test send (after loading a transaction) it just shows the merge text and not the value.

At first I thought it was just because I loaded a transaction where the field didn't exist, but I specifically checked one that did have the value and it doesn't work either.

Any ideas? Would it be better for me to open a support case to troubleshoot this more?

Also, I see that when existing recurring gifts process after the update, they have the mapping parameters section, but the values seem to all be "{Answer.Order.null}", etc. I assume that's because they were set up before the update. Is there a way to update those gifts to get the correct mapping parameters (besides canceling and starting a new gift)?

We have organizations that give to us so there is  no "contact" in SF to match with. How can we get those donations to be automatically created in SF and attached to the organizations with Account Record Type = Organization vs. Household?

Thanks

Kamran, thank you. Is there a way to NOT create a contact role in that case since we want a Contact Role to be automatically created for the vast majority of donations that come from a person/HH and therefore have that option selected in the settings?

Does Click & Pledge integrate with the NPSP Enhanced Recurring Donations app? If it does, what is the level of difficulty in installing the Enhanced Recurring Donations app AND connecting to C&P?

    @Debra Van Zegeren

Yes we do.  It was part of February 29, 2024 release.  We have put a lot of effort into NPSP integration - with NPSP recurring, pledge, and payment.

    https://support.clickandpledge.com/hc/en-us/articles/37591300809755-SALESFORCE-RELEASE-NOTES#salesforce-click-amp-pay-suite-release-february-29-2024

It is actually pretty easy.  See the release notes and email me if you have questions.

You know where to find me :)

Take a look at Give Lively.  There is no cost except the Stripe processing fees.

It's a basic donation/event platform that integrates with NPSP rather well.

It's not too sophisticated - for instance, they don't have the ability to sync custom fields to Salesforce yet (they keep saying it's on their roadmap, but they have been saying that for years), but, it does what most nonprofits need for basic donation and event pages.

Any independent consultants looking for work? I have a client on NPSP/Click & Pledge/MC Account Engagement that needs ongoing ad-hoc support. They are a client of mine that I am moving away from because I don't have enough Click & Pledge experience to effectively support them. Please email me: elizabeth [at] carenaconsulting.com if you're interested in an introduction.

    @Elizabeth Carena

We can gladly help you.  Do you want to set a time and talk about how we can help you with your client.  We can assign a training coordinator and also show you how our system works.  Click & Pay Suite is a BIG platform and can essentially do most of what a nonprofit wishes to do, now & in the future.  Let me know if you wish to meet & discuss.
